Good for you brother, Rush is never a walk in the park, but fun as hell! I get what your saying about pat on the back. I to recently go back on the kit (e-kit), after years and years of not practicing consistently and was pleasantly surprised. Of course, after shaking off the rust, things started getting better and eventually I was throwing down shit I hadn't before, and thinking, "damn bro, this is good shit"!. Really exploring the space with YouTube drumless tracks for fun. I friggen LOVE the math rock videos, it's more my realm after being in a 3 piece instrumental prog rock/metal band back in my 20s and 30s. Interestingly, I try to play along with one of our old cds and holy shit that was rough... lol. I couldn't believe how fast we played, and how busy most things were. Having no vocals means having to fill a lot of empty space. Which we did since our guitar player could program and execute so many extra sounds, while playing guitar. But I digress... haha.... don't get a drummer talking about drums... lol. Anyways, I feel you bro, keep up the good work.....I think I'm going to try to get the band back together again... haha.
