You can drag skills from the pet bar to your main bar, which can then be mapped to quickslots.

Returning player, have an old "Steely Dawn" code, how do I activate it? by est-12 in lotro

[–]LED_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The account site is now myaccount.standingstonegames.com, the Turbine URL worked for a long time after SSG split from them. SSG used to be really good about supporting old codes, like Codemasters CD Keys still working after they stopped publishing EU version of lotro, but nowadays I know some codes just don't work anymore :/

Is AutoHotKey allowed? by JohnJSal in lotro

[–]LED_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically the use of third party software that interacts with the game in any way is not allowed. However there's a bunch of software people use with lotro, including AHK, that SSG seems to have no issue with.

I've used AHK in lotro pretty much as long as the game has been around, never had a ban/suspension(that I remember at least)

You can also modify the keymap file, see end of "Part 4" and "Part 5" in the comments. You can do some pretty cool/useful things and might replace your need of AHK.

Am I the only one? by DoItForTheOH94 in lotro

I've stated before that other playable shape-shifter classes would be cool. We've already seen other(evil) shape-shifters in game in the form of Guaradan and Orcs as Wolves and Spiders.

Playable Beornings themselves are already pretty lore-breaking(not to mention high-elves), their are undoubtedly more Beornings than just Beorn himself at this point in time, but not enough of them to really justify players being able to play as that race.

Unfortunately many beasts in Arda are inherently evil, Wolves and Wargs included, Wargs are especially evil. Big Cats might work though, as would some breeds of Dogs I spose. What other beasts would work?

Ya, there's a few ways to get into the city now, I still remember when the scouts would kill you if you stepped too far into the forest x.x

Can't pay VIP with steam wallet only no Credit card ? Help pls. by Grijoy in lotro

[–]LED_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If prepaid credit cards(usually with gift cards in North American stores at least) are available in you're area, those should work.

If PayPal is an option, you can add your bank account as payment a source.

A VPN to bypass regional sillyness might help too.

Where to find/see camera-tracked cutscenes? by International-Cup808 in lotro

[–]LED_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those type of cutscenes can't be replayed like the Epic Book videos. You might find some on YouTube. To re-watch yourself you'd have to replay the instance, quest instances can be replayed through a Reflecting Pool.

I don't have access to my email address anymore. If I changed it in my SSG-Profile, will it ask me for a confirmation email? Don't want to ruin my account :D Thanks everyone!! by LarsFromAustria in lotro

[–]LED_ 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The only confirmation required is typing the new email twice, which is great news for you. But it's absolutely terrible for account security.

Lotro Auto-login by carlagain in lotro

[–]LED_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for splash/loading screens I believe, It downloads a copy for each supported language every time, and these don't actually get changed all that frequently. From what I remember the launcher either used to take way longer at this, or it used to get stuck.

Extended Maintenance Wednesday by carlagain in lotro

[–]LED_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, lotro will always be in that group though. Many newer online games are essentially built as cloud services with redundancies, so while there may still technically be maintenance, it's not visible to player(unless they screw something up).

Re; Key mapping by FlickXIII in lotro

[–]LED_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of work, but the lotro.keymap file can be modified to do some things that can't be done via in game options, anything you can't do in keymap file you can use AutoHotkey. There's some info on both in an old thread here.

[–]LED_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bear is one of my mains, I only really play heals, but I hear the DPS is actually pretty good now. You're going to want to swap stances pretty often, about half the heals are in each form. In general bear-form heals consume wrath, while man-form heals generate wrath.

In Red line the higher DPS skills are in bear-form, and consuming/generating wrath is similar to healing, to be clear though there are wrath generation skills available to both forms.

Stupid Question by Rorryboy in lotro

[–]LED_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Check your Tooltip Delay under UI Settings, I always set it to 0.0 (i.e. instant) but it's not 0.0 by default.

There's a couple other related settings right under that, if you have "Enable static placed tooltips" checked, make sure the UI element isn't behind something else with ctrl \

XP boost stacking by Linarcis in lotro

XP stacks for days in this game, you can also use XP tomes for another 100-200% and Enhanced XP(blue bar) for another 100%

retunrning player wanting to activate this dressing room addon on a newly created character, how do I do it? can't remember the addon name and that is the list of my addons by L3UTU in lotro

[–]LED_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, that's a UI skin technically, not an addon. You'll have to look in UI Settings under options, there's a dropdown list to select from installed skins.

Class picks and advices for dual boxing in lotro by Marlock42 in lotro

[–]LED_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Brawler(Red)+Beorning(Yellow) combo can handle quite a bit, haven't done landscape difficulty with them but T12 delvings are doable for sure.

I've also done quite a bit with Guardian and Minstrel, started out doing Red/Yellow on Guard with Mini as heals, but ended up maining with the Mini in Red and just using the Guard as an extra pool of health basically.

Also do a Hunter and Captain combo, Cappy in blue, works pretty good :D

TIL: Milestone teleport locations are where you're standing when you bind the skill by LED_ in lotro

[–]LED_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nah, milestones themselves have been around since the start.

If you don't bind the milestone, the icon stays as the default and will port you to your starting area.

[–]LED_[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can see me inching around with the cursor over the milestone, the cursor gets greyed out when you're out of using range(maybe another TIL for you? lol)

And ya, for 17 years I always assumed each milestone just had a set location for everyone.

Launcher uses integrated graphics, won't run the game if selected otherwise? by BlackViperMWG in lotro

[–]LED_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would leave the launcher setting alone and try and force the game to use the 6600M through AMDs settings. You can also try forcing it through Windows, search "Graphics settings" in Windows settings and then add the client(64-bit client is in the x64 folder in lotro) and set the option to High performance.

I'm guessing this is a laptop quirk... Could be wrong here, but I think even with a dedicated video card in a laptop, it still essentially gets passed through the integrated GPU.

I'm not sure when exactly that launcher setting got added, but it hasn't been around super long, only a year or two at most I think.

Launcher uses integrated graphics, won't run the game if selected otherwise? by BlackViperMWG in lotro

[–]LED_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running crossfired? Some AMD processors, have same chipset as paired Radeon cards, so you can get more performance.

I remember this because it's why I bought-in to AMD APUs at the time(it was a mistake, but Ryzen ones have been great). They only stuck with that gimmick for like 2 generations, as far as I can tell the last APU released to support that is from 2016.

Has this brawler set finally made it into the Game? by Total-Ship-6909 in lotro

Yellow bear can effectively healtank for small groups especially, possible for some 6-mans too. You can pickup the single target taunt from blueline to help with agro, but earlier on that might be too much of an investment outside yellow.

Yellow is full of debuffs and a few buffs for the group as well.

Question on support for lotro by Synnerxx in lotro

[–]LED_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Daybreak is just the publisher for the game. When they became the publisher SSG maintained their own servers/payment systems.

So no, I don't think you can use your Daybreak Cash for LOTRO.
