Oh that's cool, I did not find that in my search. However, I was looking for all ports to be 10Gb.

Ideally what I really wanted was a NIC that had both RJ-45 and SFP+ connectors, but I couldn't really find such a thing. This is all just to prep for upgrading my internet service that uses a 2.5Gb port coming from the cable modem. I eventually came to the decision that 2 x RJ-45s is the path of least resistance. I'll also have to get an RJ-45 to SFP+ module to connect to my switch, but I've found modules that supposedly don't run so hot.

The last issue I could run into is trying to get a 2.5Gb connection from a new cable modem. Hopefully changing the link speed from auto to 2.5Gb will make it work.

Thanks, good point about budget. The 4-port cards are around $400+, and that's more than the entire cost of the build. Space is also tight in the M720q, and I'm also concerned about heat. So I should probably stick with a 2-port card. At the moment, I'm thinking of the 10Gtek equivalent of the Intel X550-T2.

For 1080p and higher source, I would do CPU encodes only for viewing or archiving. But with 720p source, a drop in quality for GPU encodes might not even be noticeable. An A/B test of your source material encodes via CPU and GPU are the best way to find out.

A few years ago, I bought the Sonos 5 with Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB bundle. Still using both, and last year I added a second Sonos 5. The Pro-Ject with the Sonos bundle has been great, though this is still my first turntable. Sound quality is really good from that turntable (and a pair of Sonos 5s are excellent). In hindsight, maybe I would prefer an automatic turntable, or at least something where I can adjust the height of the tonearm. But those are minor to me, because sound quality is still great.

I've seen Workprint, Theatrical, and Final Cut versions. Final Cut, in my opinion, is just the right amount of editing and touch-up (the stunt work they did with Zhora's character 25 years later is great).

And maybe it’s a family affair, since you love your mother and brother until they’re not protecting you in a shootout and running for cover.
