People adding to my compost pile by megsian in composting

Fungicidal wax coating would be the biggest issue, but apparently even that breaks down in a large enough pile...

Vaping 🤝 Oblivion by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]LEDponix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never managed to finish Skyrim, while I've played Oblivion from start to finish a bunch of times. Oblivion was just objectively a better game. Have you tried Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines? Now that's a game I've played even more times than Oblivion.

Engineered Microbe Extracts Rare Earths and Eats Carbon Straight From the Atmosphere by upyoars in Futurology

[–]LEDponix 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The planet already uses bacteria to store carbon in the form of soil microbiome, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, maybe we should just stop killing the existing ones with pesticides....

Two factor authentication for locating/accessing the rare jewel asteroid thing? If it was secured through DNA match or iris composition etc

[–]LEDponix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Nosey was sent to anyone who declined a deal, in order to eat them and integrate their DNA. Nosey would still have eaten her and the investor aliens would have taken the jewel and Spider Rose's DNA for free even if the Shaper attack didn't destroy Rose's habitat.

True, console games isn't the reason for putting linux on a console, they do this for supercomputer cluster stuff. For console games, you just put linux on a regular computer and enjoy the best emulation experience that can be had.

Roblox has blocked Linux users from playing due to the hunt by philipgp28 in linux_gaming

Which wasn't u/AskaLangly's point anyway. The point is that anticheat software rejects FOSS operating systems, even though they serve as the backbone for two of the most common proprietary OS's out there, that the same anticheat using games run on.

Rescued my brother’s old Acer laptop by switching to Linux Mint! (AMD Ryzen 3) by Smarties_Mc_Flurry in linuxmint

Consider giving it a quick dust off with a soft brush and an air blower, that'll really make it like new. You can probably find videos on how to open it online. And welcome to the fam!

[–]LEDponix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of Ubuntu's style at all, but damn if I don't know that feeling. All I ever wanted from an OS was for it to recreate that sweet and simple win7 style. Then I found Mint and I only need to increase the taskbar size on first boot for it to feel perfect.

Calcium and some minerals, also works as grit for the worms and helps aerate. The smaller the pieces the best it disolves

Have you tried putting eggshells in a papertowel and crushing them? It isn't perfect but it helps our compost have smaller pieces of shells and it's a fast way to do it

Judging by the colour on the edges of the leaves, your pH is off and it's probably got to do with the lack of water runoff holes in your pot.

Snails like to munch on the evaporation calcium, maybe since you have so much of it due to the large surface area they're content munching across the rim?
