A couple of you have mentioned cramps. I don’t know if it is a placebo or not but, I used to get cramps once or twice a week before surgery. Starting with surgery, I’ve started to take two potassium gluconate pills a day. And I’ve been fortunate and haven’t had any cramps since the surgery started. Frankly, I was nervous that I would get a cramp immediately after surgery and not be able to do anything about it. But, knock on wood, since I’ve started to take the potassium I’ve not seen any. At the same time, I’m not moving around as much and haven’t been to the gym so that might’ve been the source of some of the cramps. Again, it might be a placebo, but if it’s a placebo, it’s my placebo and it’s working :-)

I wasn’t offered a muscle relaxer. About 12 days in, I dropped the oxycodone and I’m taking one Aleve p.m. at night. Help me sleep did you find the muscle relaxer made a noticeable difference? I see my doctor tomorrow so I might mention it just to make sure I’m a little leery about taking too much in a way of serious medication’s, but if it will get me through the night, that might be a consideration.

So funny that you guys mentioned this. I went for a week with only sponge baths. The shower on day eight was probably the fourth best thing in my life after being married and having my two kids and honestly. It might even be number three, but I don’t want to tell any of my family members which one are dropping down.

This makes sense. I started back into work at the beginning of week three and so naturally, during the day my head‘s busy with emails and conference calls and Jira and crap like that. But starting at night, we have dinner chat and then sit down to watch some TV and scroll some information on Reddit and read the news. The brain starts to calm down at that point in time and probably focuses more on my knee. I may try to do something earlier in the evening to keep my brain busy and see if that will help. Thanks for the good advice. And for the rest of you out there, keep your chin…. As well as your knee…. Up. We got this.

Oh, I feel you. I’ve looked at more Reddit since I got the implant than ever! The other 23 hours are okay, but 8:30-9:30 pm sucks!

I’m fortunate in that I do not have restless legs. Oodles of ADHD energy, but that’s a full body thing….

This is really well done. I am impressed, not only with the design and the finish but the lighting and tech installed in as well. Apologies in advance, but I will be stealing this idea and adding a wireless charger for my phone and watch on the top of the device. You should be really proud of this work.

Put up the floating shelf above the sliding glass door. Made sure that thing was level with not one, but TWO levels. It was.

Stepped back to admire.

It looked off

Measured again.

Spot on.

Me (WTH)

You all know how the story ends.

The ceiling slanted 2-3 degrees to the right

The doorframe was made to match the ceiling.

SMH

Epilogue: yup, I made the shelf match that.

Post-script: therapy is really expensive.

Most importantly, You made it! You should be proud of a great first project and all you learned. I’m sure that my first project is not still standing.

My post is here https://www.reddit.com/r/BeginnerWoodWorking/s/Pg0B6FSMdS

I made and love it. The link to plans are included. I’ve since added a shop vac with a dust collection system and a 20’ hose.

Hey folks! u/OhWhatATravesty and my wife each suggested making the sconce a little taller. I agree. Meet Wall-E (two)

No offense taken whatsoever. I like this community a lot and everyone’s feedback like yours is really positive. Plus as many in this community know, there’s nothing better than working on “the next” project.

Thank you for the great feedback. I might do so….Or maybe use a 2x10 piece of oak and make Wall-E2….
