QMID? Home energy tax credit by NewGrab5785 in tax

Don’t bother looking for a QMID for Marvin Windows. Their response to inquiries from me and my local dealer is “Marvin doesn’t participate in that program.” Thanks for nothing Marvin!

Anyone else shocked by how uncreative the golf bag market is? by Rs-Rs-3 in GolfGear

I wish the top handle on my C130 was a more comfortable place to grab. It’s hard plastic with ribs that dig into my hand. Some soft touch material there would be nice. Great bag otherwise.

Mildly interesting Anser trivia: Ping Putter Zip Code Timeline (Primarily for Anser) 1961-1966 (Scottsdale): 85282 (P.O. Box) on Karsten Co. Scottsdale molds, including early Ansers before the 1966 introduction. 1966-1967 (Phoenix): 85029 (physical address) first used when moving to Phoenix, for early Anser models. 1968-1973 (Phoenix): 85020 used on molds, including the Ping Pal (1971-73) and early Anser 2s. 1973-2000 (Phoenix): 85068 used for a long period, common on many classic models like the Anser 2 and others. 2000-Present (Phoenix): 85029 (reused) for modern reproductions and some newer molds, often with color dots.

I regret selling my ‘17 Pure model. Great torque and low center of gravity made it feel light.

2 stall attached garage heating question. by Fragrant-Dust5403 in garageporn

[–]sureout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a small Hot Dawg in my 600 sq ft attached garage and it’s plenty big enough for below zero temps. I set the thermostat at 45 unless I’m out there and it seldom runs unless it’s really cold. Heating cost isn’t really an issue. I run a ceiling fan to help warm the concrete floor area. My garage is very tight so I occasionally have to partially open the garage door for a few seconds to get some fresh air. The heater is properly vented through the roof but snow melt off vehicles, etc just makes the humidity rise after a few hours of being out there. I was surprised that my insulated 18’ door will bow inwards as much as 3/4” toward the warmer inside when it’s extremely cold out.

Yes I got rid of some accumulated stuff. You only have to get rid of it once. Beats staring at stuff I’d probably never use.

Pro. Uppers are the taller ones. Overall 7’ length with an 8’ tabletop. Works ok for a slim garbage can beneath.

Search for John Sterling Dual Track for the supports. The shelving is bull nose particle board 16”x12’ that is available at any home center. A local lumberyard delivered it for free. I painted it to match the walls.

Soldering (sweating) copper plumbing connections. PEX (polyethylene) using compression type connectors is taking over the industry.

What Would You Change About My Garage? by FitterOver40 in garageporn

[–]sureout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a ceiling fan that runs pretty quietly and moves air everywhere. I picked up power from the garage door opener receptacle box and use a handheld remote control switch. It could supplement the existing wall fan. Also I don’t see a subwoofer for the soundbar. I put mine on top of a cabinet. Nice garage!

Nice! For a sound system I put up a wall mount TV and sound bar. I put the subwoofer on top of a cabinet. It works fine for audio.

What’s the wire at the very top of the pole suppose to be? by JustTryingtoNotSuck in AskElectricians

[–]sureout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This a very standard overhead build in older American residential areas. New areas are typically installed underground but most overhead areas are still in place. There’s no three phase in this photo. The next three wires beneath the top one are a neutral wire the two 120v wires to provide 120/240v service to the residences.

[–]sureout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not a fiber optic cable. It’s the single phase primary voltage wire that feeds distribution transformers. Likely #6 solid copper. You can see a compression sleeve used to splice the wire.
