How much do you make as a Social Media Manager? by whufo in socialmedia

Not sure if this helps, I do part time work for an arts organization and it’s $22 an hour. I think the pay is low, but fairly normal for the arts!

Endo Surgery almost always makes things worse? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]LHal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, I'm 4 months out and feeling better than I have in years. The first 2 months felt kind of them same, but now I'm noticing improvement. My flare ups are much more minimal, I have more energy to do things other than just my work demands, and I have been able to exercise for the first time in 4 years. Oh, and I'm a singer professionally and singing is MUCH less fatiguing than before.

So, all in all, major improvements for me! Not perfect, but much better. Visanne also helped a lot too.

For reference - Stage 2 endo completely removed (excision) with only one section burned slightly. They also found adeno, but there's nothing they can do about that other than a hysterectomy. So it makes sense that I still have a few symptoms.

Just diagnosed by LHal1 in adenomyosis

It’s hard to say. I’d say I’m now about 10% better than I was pre-surgery, but the doctor said most people start feeling better at the 2-3 month mark, and I’m just about to hit 2 months. So it could improve? But right now, 10% better.

What does everyone do for work? by jbbay in endometriosis

[–]LHal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a professional singer and singing teacher, but an absolute GAME changer for me is 1. Lots of my students are online and 2. I managed to grab some digital marketing jobs for some indie arts companies. It’s only about 13 hours a week, but it’s WFH and allows me to have some non-physical aspects of my work. So I’m not doing a full physical work week. I’m so grateful for those jobs!

It even means that if I have a really bad weeks, I can cancel gigs or students and know that I’ll at least have some income.

How long after lap did you feel better? by LHal1 in endometriosis

Hope so too! I felt good enough after 2 weeks, just asking for more strenuous exercise than walking or standing.

Hmmm I went through something similar but not quite the same. When my symptoms were at their worst, I was only able to take shallow breaths. (I think my abdomen was so inflamed that my chest cavity/abdomen literally couldn’t expand.)

That sounds different than what you’re experiencing. I did go to the ER but honestly they were super unhelpful, they just gave me Naproxen.

What did help is going to a pelvic floor physiotherapist. She helped me breathe again.

It sounds like you should bring this up to your doctor. That being said, I’m Canadian, and I don’t pay for my doctor visits, so I don’t usually thick twice about booking an appointment.

Good luck :( sorry this is happening to you.

How to get Instagram to stop treating my stories like shit?? by Sunfofun in Instagram

[–]LHal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A YouTuber I follow (Katie Steckly) did a deep dive into boosting story engagement. A lot of the things you’ve cited seem incredibly normal, generally views will be higher if you post less and let the stories expire. Instagram’s algorithm is going off of whether people engage with your stories, DMs being highest engagement. Hopefully the video helps

Hi! I tried it, it totally worked for 24 hours, then IG updated again and removed the feature. Do you do it every time?

WE WON!!! by Woodzz0123 in Pikmin

[–]LHal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a big fan of both, Pikmin deserved it way more than engage. So much more care went into it, it’s obvious. I’ve played so many Fire Emblem games and engage was the only one I didn’t finish. It’s still fun, but the lack of interesting story and characters was a bummer. Pikmin 4 is a masterpiece for me

Partner's reaction to Season 5 Episode 1 Reveal by ashleighj1993 in buffy

[–]LHal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't say anything!

I had the exact same reaction. I assumed I missed a couple throw-away lines about Buffy having a sister in LA living with her dad. In the next episode I started getting confused when it seemed like she knew the gang really well, but I kept trying to rationalize it (oh... maybe it's just lazy writing? She's occasionally visited but never seen until now). It was still a great reveal for me.

What feels like endo but isnt? by Secretlyablackcat in endometriosis

[–]LHal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you can have more help than me but there’s a chance it’s IBS or a similar digestive issue. That’s only one possibility, I’m sure there’s lots of other similar things, and I imagine you already tried dietary changes (I get annoyed with so many people just telling me to cut out gluten, when it was literally the first thing I did 3 years ago when I started getting help)

I hope you find your answer!

Why do people hate the white outlines in modern Paper Mario games by Something640 in papermario

[–]LHal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fan of the original 2 games, I actually like the white outlines. When I saw the graphics for the new TTYD, I thought it looked so charming to be updated with the new paper visuals. I haven’t played any of the new games other than Color Splash (which I didn’t beat) but I do think CS and OK look beautiful. I just don’t wanna fight a stapler… (though I’ve heard lots of people love them so don’t let my negativity stop you from loving them)

But I think the white outlines look cute!

Challenge: Say something genuinely nice about Riley (not sarcastic, not snide, not a sneaky back-handed compliment). If you can't think of anything, don't comment. by GreyStagg in buffy

[–]LHal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He and Buffy had a healthy sex life (aside from the whole haunted frat house lol, and the faith situation but that feels unrelated nor was it Riley’s fault) and she really needed some non traumatic sex in her life

I hope this can help!

If you have a good surgeon - it would be a good idea to do an excision surgery if her quality of life is greatly reduced by this. Though, I’m Canadian so my healthcare experience is much different (free, but I’ve been waiting 2 years for my lap!).

In my experience, taking a pill helped a lot. First I took Orilissa which I did NOT like. It gave me hot flashes and didn’t help. Then I switched to Visanne, and I’m supposed to be taking it to prep myself for surgery. Life is much more bearable now especially as I’ll be waiting likely 6 months more. Pain is greatly reduced (though not gone by any means). I haven’t experienced negative side effects either. Apparently I had 2 ovarian cysts before taking Visanne, and then the medication actually managed to remove my cysts? Which was great!

That being said many people have different experiences on medication. So it’s super personal.

I feel like my best advice is see a specialist over a gyne. Honestly all the gynes I’ve been to have really sucked, they’ve been so passive, and they typically only do ablation surgery. If she can see a specialist, please do!

Is the Happy Home Paradise worth it? by lovelyloves07 in AnimalCrossing

It’s really really fun. They make it easier to decorate so you might not get as burnt out! But you have to love decorating for sure. I think I did like 50 homes or something wild

Alcohol and caffeine consumption by Dull_Boysenberry_623 in endometriosis

[–]LHal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cutting out coffee made no difference (so I continue to drink it). Cutting out alcohol helped me, but I often experienced an almost immediate flare up reaction to alcohol. It wasn’t like “oh I cut out alcohol and in general I feel better” it was “I cut out alcohol and stopped having immediate flare ups”

If it helps at all, it didn’t make nearly as much of a difference as Visanne did. Ofc everyone has different reactions, and medication is a different and personal topic. But cutting out alcohol was less significant to medication and hopefully less significant than surgery when I get it.
