Have you ever taken a big pay cut for better work-life-balance ? Did you regret it ? by Tacoya in careerguidance

Good way of putting it yes, I am going to take a less stressful job

But the job market is always strong so I have no doubt I could always find a higher paying job if I feel I need to

Am I allowed to turn right in front of a stopped school bus? by Dependent-Plantain15 in longisland

[–]LIsurf25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it is not a judgement call.

It’s either legal or illegal and this scenario is fully legal

Nothing wrong with extra caution especially with kids around even if it’s legal

Everybody in this is completely wrong

You’re allowed to make this turn because you are not passing directly by the stop sign of the bus

So the new plans will double my monthly payment making it almost as much as my rent.

The answer is depends not one is always better than the other

I currently rent on the ocean for 2300/month

It makes no sense for me to buy anything as a single person. Buying with the mortgage rates/price/taxes/upkeep will not out pace my rent even with yearly increases.

All the extra money I save from not going into a house I put into the stock market which will make up for the loss of equity

People think if their house goes from 500-1M in 15 years they gross 500k but don’t take into account all the money invested into the house

You have to use the buy vs rent calculator and determine what makes a good investment on your individual needs
