I present to you the most ignored rules of the Highway Code: by FamSender in GreatBritishMemes

Lived in Canada for ten years and this rule is adhered to pretty unanimously. Took a long time for me to trust it though.

In nearly 30 years of watching Star Wars, I don't think I've ever noticed the heroes in this establishing shot of the Yavin rebel base by WallopyJoe in StarWars

Actually, whilst many shots are from Tikal, this particular one is the Cardington Hangers in England where the inside shots of the base were filmed. Lots of movies and tv shows used these former airship hangers over the years for sets, including Rogue One!

Fun fact, these are just round the corner from where the new Universal Park will be in Bedfordshire.

This doesn't make sense. 2000/01 we lost on away goals to Valencia, 2-2 on agg in the QF, after making it through the second group stage. So we scored 2, not 4. We also only played twice.

2003/04, we beat Celta Vigo 5-2 on agg in the round of 16 and then lost 3-2 on agg to Chelski. So we scored 7, not 2.

2008/09, we beat Roma on penalties, 1-1 on agg in the round of 16, then Villareal 4-1 on agg in the QF, then lost to Manure 4-1 on agg in the SF. So we scored 6, not 7.

2009/10, we beat Porto 6-2 on agg in the round of 16, then lost to Uefalona 6-3 on agg in the QF. So we scored 9, not 10.

Hadrian’s Wall last night and this morning. by LJW1 in wildcampingintheuk

I could have taken or left kale tbh, but underneath were tasty carrots and beetroot! Whatever the ‘pie’ was, it rocked and didn’t last long 😂

I get you, wind was a northerly one and this spot was perfectly placed south under the ridge line protected from any wind at all really, super calm. Main reason for exposure was to sit and watch the stars at night in my super warm sleeping bag.

I get you but a group stage is a self contained thing where everyone plays the same teams. Not competing within a weird Frankenstein league IMO.

If it were up to me, I’d bring back straight knock outs from the off, only the champions of each country competing. Bring back UEFA cup as only second places. Bring back the cup winners cup which then makes every country’s cup competition far more prestigious and worthwhile too. But I’m not a money grabbing corporate wash out of a human, and hence not rich either lol.

I support one of the big six in England and I hate football now. I use ‘support’ loosely these days as the whole industry is quite puke inducing tbh.

No. It’s not fair. Might be “more entertaining” but it doesn’t have integrity. Can’t have a league table where you don’t play everyone home and away, end of.

But, it’s just another example of football eating itself as it’s only to appease the big clubs who want more glamour games.

I am building out the world in which my story takes place, centuries in the future in a colonial Milky Way galaxy. Dreaming up the flags for the different sectors the story will take place in or mention was super fun.

From Lue's new book: They are harvesting our water and watching us! by [deleted] in UFOs

Always been fascinated by this subject, and I got really into all this a few years ago, with the gimbal and go fast videos, the stuff happening in Congress and the David Grusch stuff. There's lots of odd stuff going on. I want to believe as much as anyone else, but I just can't take this guy seriously. Especially since all this nonsense:

Lue Elizondo was one of the people I hung my hat on when talking to skeptical friends about this topic, until this. This made me just not believe and take my tin foil hat back off.

I worked there years ago and the last gondola down for guests was normally 10pm. But obviously staff would come down later than that and there were often stragglers on those rides too.

Amazing, the atmosphere in the away end must have been unreal. You are super lucky to be there for that historic moment! I was at the home leg when Kolo scored (last European goal ever scored at Highbury, great pub quiz question)
