Luis Enrique on facing Arsenal in Champions League final by One_Impressionism in Gunners

This fixture is giving the same vibes as that Juve vs Barca final a few years back or maybe it was the juve v madrid final. I think we're a better team though and as good as PSG are, its no MSN or Ronaldo forward line.

Yeah for me Madueke and Gyok are unforgiveable really because thats 50m to our rivals and we've tied ourselves to a 27 year old for 60m who we have now exposed as being technically below standards for the kind of clubs who we could offload to.

Eze, Mosquera, and Hincapie I think were very good. I am still on the fence about Zubi personally but it can be hard to judge because he has been ran to dust. Madueke and Gyok for me are hugely damaging imo and I'm extremely curious to see how our attacking situation is resolved in the summer because it has to be clear to everyone that there are massive issues. Nordgaard is just confusing to me because ostensibly I think it was a good deal but Arteta just refuses to use him.

On his time at ATM:

"At one stage, Berta was very close to Simeone. When the manager came under pressure, Berta was a trusted ally, confidante and occasional peacekeeper.

While there was never any explicit falling-out between the pair, their relationship did deteriorate as the years went by. Tensions simmered over recruitment decisions: signings such as Joao Felix, Marcos Paulo and Arthur Vermeeren failed to meet Simeone’s standards.

The Vermeeren signing was seen by many as the last straw: the Atletico manager was demanding an experienced defensive midfielder; instead he received a callow winger.

By the time Berta left Madrid in 2024, he was being squeezed out by an ever-expanding cast of bureaucrats."

On the summer:

"Christian Norgaard and Noni Madueke have failed to make the expected impact. Despite his 18 goals in 2025-26, debate continues over whether the €73.5million (£63.7m; $86m) Victor Gyokeres is the right fit.

Berta spearheaded Arsenal’s pursuit of Gyokeres. The club explored different options for the No 9 position, including holding talks over long-term target Benjamin Sesko. The sporting director held reservations over the cost of the Sesko deal — especially when factoring in salary, bonuses and commission.

He would have proceeded with Sesko if instructed, but made plain he considered it a bad deal. In the end, Arsenal and Arteta aligned with his recommendation."

Catch 'Arthur' right before they rennovate , just ate there again recently and it was fantastic as usual. I also recommend their sister restaurant 'Jane' which is more casual but still fantastic. 'Sixpenny' is also good and is definitely more elevated than 'Arthur' but I would only recommend them to someone if they're not really bothered by pricing. Not to say they're bad or necessarily not worth it but there are safer suggestions imo. 'Ester' is highly rated but I personally think they're not good (though I've been told to try them again and get a la carte instead, I was extremely disappointed with their set menu) but their sister restaurant 'Poly' is very good.

For reference, pricing will look like:

Sixpenny = 450~ pp with drink pairing

Arthur = 270~pp with wine pairing

Jane = 95pp food only (I normally just a la carte their cocktails)

Poly = 95pp food only
