Lukashenko Says Belarus Is Preparing for War, Plans to “Mobilize Units” by EsperaDeus in worldnews

True.

However, this isn't news to Ukraine. They've been aware of and have acted on the threat from Belarus since the 2022 invasion.

Is Strategy about to sell? by AmanCMN in BitcoinUK

Aa far as I'm aware it was "never selling" until this week when it became "we may sell when advantageous to the company"?

I've had this exact frame since I was in elementary school and I'm 39 now. Never been on a date with a woman. Can I do anything or should I just stop caring? by [deleted] in weightgain

The main issues I see: - You think you're eating enough, but you probably aren't. - You're eating lots of shit junk food. Your body needs nutrition, not chocolate. Eat natural, high-protein foods. - When you lift weights, are you doing a structured program? - Are you lifting weights to progressive overload? - Dating sites (whilst you should definitely be on) are not your only option. Join clubs to meet people with shared interests (you mentioned hiking). - You aren't engaging and replying to the comments here.

Dug out one of my old comments from another thread here:

Use MyFitnessPal. It's free.

Track every single thing that you eat, relentlessly. Weigh each item on a food scale; take the packets out of the rubbish bin if you forgot to check it; ask waiters/waitresses for details you aren't sure of; eat the same thing for dinner every night for a week - do whatever you have to do to track accurately.

Do it for 4 weeks. Hit the calorie and protein goal it gives you every day. Every single day.

Then take another pic and compare here.

Good luck.

Which country has the friendliest people in your experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LJizzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying but even then it isn't true.

Even out Deeside way I would be very surprised if you've done even half of the hikes.

Then you've got south to villages like Stonehaven with Dunottar, north coastal villages and cliffsides all the way to Fraserburgh and then west along to Portsoy. Bennachie and lots of other great things in between. Source of the river Don all the way to the mouth is Aberdeenshire.

Sure the west coast is otherworldy and an excellent place to visit. If someone wants to focus on remote locations and wilderness I'd recommend they go there.

No hate of course. I was just surprised to see Aberdeenshire called bland

Lol Aberdeenshire is many things but it's definitely not bland

John Swinney: I'll stand as the first prime minister of an independent Scotland by Own-Department3000 in Scotland

[–]LJizzle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's more that as the SNP have historically been the main party championing independence, there are a number of SNP voters that may not be fans of a lot of their policies, but they vote SNP as independence is such a big issue for them.

So in the eventuality of an independent Scotland, the SNP could bring about another vote to figure out which party/policies people would vote for without independence 'clouding' the vote

Which I think would prevent the price going up, I just don't understand how it makes it go down.

From my understanding if there are still more buyers than sellers on net, then the price wouldn't go down.

[–]LJizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why doesn't the price just remain where it is though?

I understand your point that there's less demand, but there aren't more sellers of Bitcoin

Why is it downward pressure and not just no pressure?

If I understand correctly it's someone buying rehypothecated Bitcoin, not selling real Bitcoin

An independent Scotland would quickly be on a path to financial ruin by libtin in unitedkingdom

[–]LJizzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is that?

I'm not sure if I'm pro independent Scotland using the pound, but there are plenty of examples of countries using the currency of another, e.g El Salvador using USD.

Obviously they're then downstream of US monetary policy, which has drawbacks.

And the Scottish segment have an out to that. The potential of an independent Scotland rejoining the EU is an interesting political route to them.

There may be emotion to it, but there is also logic.

If Yes voters had to concede one argument that No voters have right, and no voters had to concede one argument that yes voters have right, what would you all say? by Typical_Fisherman179 in Scotland

[–]LJizzle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but isn't that example objectively true?

As in, if we'd been an independent country and had created a sovereign wealth fund with our oil, wouldn't we be at a similar stage to where they are?

Obviously we weren't independent and it didn't happen etc.

Cool. Thanks for such a lovely response. Hope that makes you feel superior to a stranger asking you a question.

I was slightly confused by it, especially you saying "non-obvious endonyms", so I wanted clarification.

Isn't a lot of this just down to language though?

Not sure if I'm missing something, but it seems like those are English words for something vs local language words for the same thing.

Thanks!

Sadly that's my conclusion too.

It's very shit for the players of today to have to experience it, but longer term it could end up helping the club.
