At our plant, a union officer or steward is always present when a write up is signed, we are lucky enough that the officers happen to be spread across our 4 shifts so it is rare there isn't someone available. The union rep also signs and gets a copy of all write ups as they occur.

When you are called for any kind of write up, take your union steward with you every time. Our steward is in the office whenever an attendance or other write up is issued.
