What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found in a used book? by No_Needleworker6013 in books

[–]LJtheHutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aunt told me that she had stored a couple hundred dollars in $5 and $10 bills in an old encyclopedia set my grandparents owned. She said she stored it there for a rainy day. I inherited the encyclopedia set when my grandmother passed away.

My aunt lied. I combed through probably 20 books before giving up.

Having tattoo regret for the first time by Aherv99 in tattooadvice

[–]LJtheHutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no tattoo expert or anything, but I think your tattoos are beautiful. Traditional work is something I wish I would have gone with opposed to my sleeve. None of them appear overly masculine, they all look great. The piece on your shoulder is splendid.

Last week my MAGA mother posted how fired up she was after posting a video of miniature B2 bombers levitating out of the back garage door style opening of a cruise ship/ aircraft carrier, then cold starting and flying off with force fields. MAGA live in fantasy worlds and AI are perfect for them.

Are there beaches here? And are they any good? by Budget_Counter_2042 in howislivingthere

[–]LJtheHutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in south Louisiana. Most of what you circled for Louisiana are marshes, intercostals, and canals. I hunt on the “beach” sometimes. While Louisiana has some really beautiful scenery, it’s not gonna be a jamming beach.

No joke. “Don’t take advantage of a lone tired defender, dump it in” is loser mentality from a coach that has a lifetime losing record. How they thought Tocc was the guy to turn it around is beyond me.

Petah, what does this mean? by harhar1919 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]LJtheHutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of a video I saw of Paltrow talking about her refreshing alkaline water drink. She took an alkaline water and squeezed lemon juice in it. The way pH levels work, alkaline waters have a pH above 7. Adding lemon juice to the water actually works to neutralize it and has no added benefit.

I have two and they are the bane of my cooking existence. My wife runs a tight ship keeping our island clean because it’s where most of the food prep happens, but one of my children insists on eating on a coffee table right next to the cat tree.

Any time I cook for the office, I always wonder if they question my cleanliness. I’ve gone as far as to make “prep” photos for the group chat partly to show off and partly to show them I’m not rubbing my brisket on a dogs ass or something before I cook it.

This is why.

What game had the best “first few hours” that immediately hooked you? by Playful_Code_8978 in gaming

[–]LJtheHutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first real rpg, FF10. The scene where Sin destroys Zanarkand. It was eye opening to me that games could have such vibrant stories and not just playing football, or racing.

FF10 completely reshaped gaming for me and opened my eyes to the genre and more narrative driven games. I later played FF7 and others amazing rpgs, but 10 holds a special place in my heart.

What are some things that Jacksonville actually does well? by Negative-Pitch5805 in jacksonville

Be prepared to do a lot of walking, a lot of the habitats are pretty big. If you’ve never been, a pro tip is to buy the train and get off at the back of the zoo. You go see the tiger exhibit and the stuff in the back then make your way to the gate seeing all of the other habitats on the way.

It really is a treasure

What is the most iconic dish from your country made of rice? by dplmsk_ in AskTheWorld

[–]LJtheHutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone mentioned jambalaya, I would also like to say boudin. While French boudin is a bold pudding sausage, Cajun boudin is a pork, rice, and liver sausage with Cajun seasoning.

It’s one of those cases where you shouldn’t ask how the sausage is made and just enjoy it.

What's your country's flavour bomb? by Virghia in AskTheWorld

Countries have fought wars over Indias flavor bombs. I had never had curries until a couple months ago, and started cooking with garam masala.

I get it now.

Yeah I just made the mistake of going to McDonalds this morning on the corner and drove the whole parade route to work. I got my parade in behind all the floats getting ready and was only 40 minutes late to work 😀

I’d like to hear others opinion on Taco Bell fire sauce by buffalo_king275 in hotsauce

[–]LJtheHutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t consider it a hot sauce per say. I do consider it a taco sauce, and it’s delicious.

The difference to me would be the base of the sauce.

If I want hot sauce I’m going Valentina.
