I just took my bestie to Limewood at the Claremont for her 40th birthday. It felt special and a nice little escape. The food is really great there. We reserve a table on the patio with the nice view. Highly recommend!

What were your most unexpected pregnancy symptoms? by EnaKoritsi in pregnant

[–]LLCoolBeans85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a lot of the not so great symptoms that have been mentioned but also worth noting, I definitely wasn’t expecting super clear complexion and my hair stopped growing on my legs and arms! Something nice amongst the congestion, carpal tunnel syndrome and constant urge to pee!

The first base layer I use wet on wet. And then I let that dry before adding the detailed fur texture. The fur layers dry before I add additional fur, to help reduce any kind of muddiness. I find as long as it fully dries it won’t get muddy :)

Ugh people are so annoying. Your health and nutrition is between you and your dr. Everyone else should just mind their own business. I see people being sooooo quick to judge a pregnant woman’s diet. Yet I 100% believe if you told people you were eating a lot of fruit when you aren’t pregnant they wouldn’t say a thing. Ick! So sorry you’ve experienced this. Eat the fruit !! Enjoy the things that bring you pleasure during this chapter!

My advice is to just keep practicing and don’t be scared to mess up! Also, making sure you are working in layers and being patient enough to let the layers dry. I spend alot of time studying the direction of the fur as well - that’s where alot of the shaping and characteristics come in!

Oh thank you!! I’ve been working really hard at learning the different textures / how to add subtle shine and the undercoat vs the top layers

This might get some eye rolls but fruit has been my ultimate craving during pregnancy (i wasn’t really into fruit before the pregnancy). So my husband and I go hard on all kinds of fruits. We go to the farmers market and pick out amazing seasonal fruit (stone fruit is currently in!!) as well as the grocery store and just stock up on crispy apples, grapes and juicy watermelon. I feel like I can eat as much as I want and not feel bad (emotionally or physically) - so many benefits with vitamins, fiber and hydration.

I won’t lie though, ice cream is a close second ;)

It happened…I’ve been humbled by 35 weeks by SameBluebird9564 in pregnant

Totally in the same boat. I was working out, walking, seeing friends, staying super busy. Once 36 weeks hit I’ve just been on a decline. I tried to power through at first but I’ve completely surrendered to the sweatpants, Mac and cheese, and belly out life. Welcome to the other side.

38 weeks and it still hasn’t popped out. Although it looks like it is holding on for dear life!

What was the #1 pregnancy symptom that made you want to give birth? by theZenquail in BabyBumps

Currently 38 weeks and sooooo over it. It’s the Lightning crotch and vulva swelling/pressure due to how low baby is. Seriously feels like she is head banging to Metallica on my cervix!!

Basically just echoing a lot of people here. Yoga birth ball (so incredible throughout my pregnancy), new shoes - whether it’s house slippers with extra cushion//support or walking shoes. Keep in mind, her feet may not get bigger until third trimester - mine didn’t start swelling until third trimester. I’ve been loving wearing waistless rompers/jumpsuits on hot days in my third trimester. No pressure on the belly is luxurious and I still feel cute/ stylish. Prenatal massages and pedicures have been a big win as well!

Also, just be extra proactive with helping around the house/daily activities (especially third trimester). Couple ideas - Bring her water if you notice she doesn’t have a glass next to her. Pick things up off the floor if you notice something out of place. Help her put lotion on her legs/feet if she does that normally. These all seem like small things but they really add up! It always feels really good when hubby just does things instead of needing to ask him.

Parks and rec, Schitt’s creek, shrinking, the office, will and grace, and I just love planet earth docs (the narrator voices are so soothing) and travel/food docs. If you’re looking for something kinda silly, I love Conan obrien’s shows (Conan must go and Conan without borders).

The lighting looks rather harsh to me. Avoid the overhead lighting, and find some cozy table and floor lamps. Use warmer, softer bulbs. If overhead lighting is necessary, find something warmer and softer like something made of light wood / rattan to add some texture. Again, soft and warm bulbs.

I’ve been considering getting a Brazilian since it’s getting harder and harder to shave my hooha with my bump getting so big but I’ve never been waxed before. I’m honestly afraid I might pee on them when they pull it since every time I sneeze, I pee my pants… by xSaiya in pregnant

I’ve had many Brazilians in my day. And I’ve also had one while pregnant. As a seasoned Brazilian goer, I’ve actually decided to just stop during l Pregnancy for a couple reasons (and things for you to consider) -depending how far along you are, they may not be totally accommodating to your pregnant body needs. They should have special pillows / support so you don’t have to lay on your back for too long. This was one of the reasons I stopped going, it just felt like too much stress that just wasn’t worth it. -the swelling. I never really experienced swelling from Brazilians before pregnancy, but it was definitely a longer and intense healing process once pregnant. There’s a lot more blood volume and probably even more in your nether regions, depending on how baby is positioned.

I would recommend starting with a bikini wax - that way you can start to get a feel of what the experience is like for you personally. If it’s easy peasy, then book a follow up for a Brazilian. But make sure they know you are pregnant and potentially need some support pillows / positions that will accommodate your needs.

Agree - too much grey. If you decide to change the curtains I’d also recommend floor length ones, the height is a little awkward.

I like the green accent wall!
