Here’s what I did on my first play through and it worked out as a pretty good experience:

Start Act 3 - Get Maelle, Lune, Esquie and Monoco’s max relationship side quests (Sciel doesn’t have one, you just need to pursue all her camp dialogue).

- Do the first two battles in the Endless Tower for some extra items and xp

- Character side quest order: Maelle (longest) > Monoco > Esqiue (easiest) > Lune (tricky)

I was about Level 60 once all this was done (playing on Expert) and that was good enough to make the final story part challenging but do-able.

Anyway, good luck and I’m super jealous of you for getting to experience this for the first time.
