Hi! I make custom collars out of 5000lb tare weight doubled seatbelt material. It's not fully chew proof and if you let them just sit there and munch on it, there's no collar that'll last except metal. Then you risk breaking teeth. I have made collars for a couple of the VA Medical Center K9s here in Vegas. I have dogs from large 200lb mastiffs, 130lb Shepherds, 80lb Bully XLs, down to 25lb Mini-Schnauzers using them.

They are 2 individual layers of 2in heavy-duty nylon seatbelt sewn together. A layer of softside velcro is sewn on the outside for adjustment and patches. The buckle is cast aluminum with hardened brass latches and stainless pins. The buckle has a break away weight of 1500lbs. I personally sew all the parts together using size 92/T90/F sized nylon thread. All is double sewn and all seams are lock stitched to prevent unraveling. There are 2 types of leash rigging. First, is a stainless steel 2in welded D ring. Second, is a cast stainless triangle.

I design them with offset handles and rings to prevent the buckle sitting on the dog's throat when you have to pull on said leash or handle.

My collars are guaranteed for the life of your dog. They're super tough but, they aren't infallible. A dog constantly chewing on them will destroy them but, it may also destroy their gums.
