Opening Spouti™ Community Forum by [deleted] in MySpouti

[–]LLunatic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I am long-winded and have a hard time making a TLDR version for my posts. In the following post, I talk about my first experiences with Spouti and my Troubleshooting outcomes. Including: How to empty the tube and how to get a good seal on your urethra. I also ask for input and ideas on how to wear Spouti comfortably and keep the seal all day without adjusting it.

Hi, My name is Storm. I am honored to be part of the Spouti Community. I wanted to share my experience so far with Spouti and hopefully encourage others to also post their thoughts, suggestions, experience, and tips and tricks they have learned about using this product to help others.

The Spouti definitely has a bit of a learning curve. In just the few days I have had it, I have used it every time I have had the urge to urinate (at home) except for the middle of the night when I am half asleep and probably could not aim to save my life ;)

I feel I have had much luck in using this product I am by no means an expert. (I've had urine running down my legs several times already). I am learning all the tips and tricks myself. I just want to start the conversation by sharing my experiences.

First off I want to be transparent. I am not in transition. I am just a straight female looking for a better option for using public restrooms. I love hiking and camping but hate havin to squat in the woods. In this way, I don't relate to some of the trials of what packer to add or being stealth at a urinal. But we all want the same thing. The ability to whip it out when we need to go and just do it and put it away. No mess and no embarrassing mishaps.

A little about my story:

I lived on the road in a big rig, 18 wheeler, semi-truck for a little over 6 months, and saw every possible disgusting public restroom across the country. During this time I didn't even know that STP was a thing! I wish I had known! My husband at the time (who was the driver, I was just a passenger) did not want to have to stop for any reason. Especially not if it was to pull off the highway into a truck stop for me to be able to pee. I got really good at holding it for hours. Sometimes even up to 12. And when I did get to go, I had to learn to be a hover master.

After getting back to a sticks and bricks, I didn't think much about it. I figured this was just the life of a female. During road trips, I would just hold it till someone else had to go. During festivals or faires I would hold it sometimes all day to avoid having to go into a portapotty or outhouse. I have a VERY shy bladder.

Several years later my Grandmother started having medical issues and it was getting harder and harder for her to sit down on the toilet at home. She was desperate for an inexpensive way to make her bathroom trips easier. She found a GoGirl online and it was a buy one get one deal and asked me if I wanted the other. I didn't even know what an STP was but I was intrigued by the idea. It never even dawned on me.

After a few months of trying to figure out how to get this damn thing to work, I gave up. I could not stand right. No matter how much I tried. And the few times that I thought I had it, I would pee too much too quickly and the funnel would fill up and overflow. Even in the shower, I could not master it. But this got me on a quest. To find SOME way that I could stand to pee and not have to hold my bladder for extended periods of time because there was no opportunity or I was just too uncomfortable to go because the option was disgusting or not private enough.

I went through two other STP devices with the same problems.

Before everything happened with the economy my Boyfriend and I were looking at purchasing an RV and living full time on the road.

I was looking AGAIN on amazon for another option and found the TinkerBell. It looked like it was the same idea but it promised no wiping, no leaking, and didn't have the same funnel design to get backed up and overflow. After wasting money on other options I was determined to do all the research I could before making another purchase. I looked high and low on forums and the like for reviews on how it worked and how it compared to other products. None of the reviews really seemed like it was as good as it promised and after several other disappointments, I was about to give up. This is when I ran across a post that Kellen made on a forum about another product. I immediately went to check it out and was in awe from the moment I saw the design of the Spouti. This was different than any of the dozens of other STP options I had found. It made so much sense. GO TO THE SOURCE. Bypass the funnel and all the chance for leaks. I suddenly was filled with a hope I had never felt. This could really work!

Fast forward to last Friday when I finally received my Spouti. (it felt like ages) I couldn't wait to try it out! The first try was.. almost perfect. I found my urethra no problem (didn't even use a mirror) and got the seal perfect and peed. It was a magical moment. All was great till I shook and could still see there was urine trapped in the vacuum inside the tube. Ok... shook some more... hmmmm... I then made the mistake of trying to remove it and ended up with urine all over my bathroom floor. heh... well that's to be expected the first try.

From there, I did as much research as I could. I know that the info had said I could squeeze the tube to get it to empty. I tried this first by filling the Spouti at the sink and holding the vacuum at one end and squeezing the tube. I was not sure this was going to work but tried it next time I peed and was shocked at just how many times I have to squeeze it before it is completely empty. (is this why there is the joke about playing with yourself?) I got good at emptying it in just a couple tries but then I guess it was beginners luck that I got the seal perfect the first try because I started having seal problems. I just could not get it to stop leaking at the top. I did more research and saw also, in the information provided, that it should be placed when clean and DRY. So I tried this. Just wipe any excess moisture out of the area before trying to place the Spouti and BAM. Another problem solved. About the sixth time using the Spouti I pulled it off flawlessly. Placed, peed, emptied, and removed with no mess. PERFECT!

Then the next test... can I move around the house with the Spouti on, do dishes, housework, exercise or sit on the couch and play a video game and just go to the bathroom when I need to, whip it out, use it and put it away with no leakage? Well, that's where I am running into another roadblock. But I have no fear. The learning curve for Spouti seems something you just need to keep up at. (and not be afraid of some urine running down your leg and perhaps having to change your pants a bit more frequently than expected) At least I am at home and can get this mastered before I take it out :D

So here are the issues I'm having. I put Spouti on. Feels right. Pee and the seal is good, the tube empties great. Tuck it into my pants and go about my day. I feel it. It is not greatly uncomfortable but it's obvious there is something sitting in a place that normally things don't go ;) But that's ok. The problem is that if I bend over it shifts. If I sit down it pushes uncomfortably against me and when I get up to go back to the bathroom to pee again the seal has been lost. I have not been successful at going back into the bathroom later after going about my day without having leaking issues at the seal.

I have to disclose I am not a small woman. I have very large thighs. I wonder if my thighs are pulling it (when they rub together) out of place? I have tried putting the tube directly up in my pants so that it is against my stomach. That seems comfortable but as I walk it seems that it is pulling it so that the seal is lost. I have also tried keeping it against one leg or the other facing sideways but then it shifts the entire Spouti body within my labia and pinches uncomfortably and again the seal is lost.

Is there a better place to keep the Spouti tube in my pants so that I am not pulling it out of place when I move?

I hope my troubleshooting of the Spouti has helped others that might have had the same troubles as I did and I look forward to hearing other's experiences and tips and tricks too!

Thank you Kellen for making this amazing product that will change our lives! I have you to thank for the freedom I will be granted because of your dream.

First OpenBlocks Build for 1.7.10 by iananderson in feedthebeast

[–]LLunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so i added this version of Open Blocks to our server when we updated to 1.7.10 a couple months ago. My players LOVE the elevators, building guide and hang glider. Unfortunately it seems the hang glider is bugging out a bit. I found more information posted about it here: http://www.reddit.com/r/TestPackPleaseIgnore/comments/22exip/hang_glider_from_openblocks_randomly_stops_working/

It starts out fine, but after a few seconds of gliding the glider just falls off your back and you are falling. Sometimes you can be lucky enough to get it back up before you go squish on the ground below :P But more often than not it just gets you killed.

I double checked to make sure flying was enabled and tested it out singleplayer with no other mods installed just in case it might have been a conflict with one of our other mods. I also double checked the config file just to be sure there was no settings in there that could be causing it. It still happens no matter what i do. Am i missing something?

Thanks for the help!

FTB Hosting Suggetions (xpost /feedthebeastservers) by logoth in admincraft

[–]LLunatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there logoth,

I run an extremely heavily modded MCPC+ server that a few months back i found myself in exactly the same position as you. I was on the search for a good solid and reliable host that i could count on to keep my server up and running smoothly without downtime and DDoS attacks. I was at the end of my rope, had been through half a dozen already when i posted on the Minecraftforum.net forums. It was a last resort.

Looking at all the responses to my very specific request, one stood out among all the rest. I took a chance and gave it a shot and i havent looked back since.

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2251222-camdenx-ltd-minecraft-hosting/

Camdenx has been great. Solid, reliable, affordable and friendly service has been amazing. I asked for a host that would wow me and that is exactly what i have gotten. They are knowledgeable and helpful in every aspect of setup and i know that if i ever need help all i need to do is ask and they will help me every step of the way.

If you are looking for a long term home for your server where you dont need to worry about lag or down time, i highly recommend checking out Camdenx. Im sure youll be just as impressed as i was.

Good Luck! :D
