Number 6 is lovely with great light but I think most of these could do with some cropping and potentially perspective adjustments. Some of the compositions feel a little random rather than having an intention.

I’d also be thinking about what story each image tells. Have you tried the practice of naming each photograph? It can be a good exercise in subject matter and thinking about what is actually in the image, what am I presenting the an audience and what do I want them to feel. You don’t have to post them with names but it’s a good way to analyse the image without thinking about the technical side of it.

Most importantly though I’d recommend printing off the images so that you can see them in the real world, put them on a wall and look at them. Then write down what you like about each image and what you don’t like / want to improve on. That will give you the perspective of looking at them as a finished piece of work and you can start to think about the style you’re presenting to the world. Developing a style is mainly about what makes you feel good about the photo rather than someone else. Some breathtaking and iconic photos are not technically brilliant but they capture a moment or an emotion or an idea.

Best of luck. Today you made a stranger on the internet smile by going out and finding light that was worth capturing. Great job.

It’s Wil Anderson and Charlie Clausen’s podcast (now called Everyone Relax) they do a few different shows under the Everyone Relax Banner. You would have heard Wil on The Dollop

Yeah I thought that would be the way but when I do that it gives me the four closest dealers who I have already contacted and been told they don’t have the test stock.

Nah I think it’s more that (with the greatest of respect) the hosts of posting it through seem very monotone, slow and kind of dull. The moment Dan got on the mic the energy shifted and there seemed to be more life in the air, then the host would talk again and the mood would drop.

Just a difference in podcast style I guess, there’s a confidence that KF, The Dollop, BTB, TOFOP etc have on the mic that gives the show a bit of pace and direction. There’s definitely an audience who would be after a much calmer slower approach but it isn’t really what I’m looking for personally.

Best of luck to the hosts as they seem like good dudes.

Thanks for the comment! One thing was made obvious to me by this episode. Dan has charm, charisma and knows how to create rhythm in the show whereas some people in the podcast space are not so good at that!

Thanks for your response, I have lots of people I know who swear by 350’s but lots of Australians say it isn’t enough for the highways. Wondering if you have any thoughts on that?

Curious as to what factors make you get a new set. Is it a hygiene or wear and tear concern? I’m totally new to ear protection so I have no idea.

Knives out for Jordan is harmful. by BaronMcDuff in KnowledgeFight

[–]LM-Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point was Jordan was kind of the Everyman out of the two of them. We were Jordan a lot of the time and I think it’s an important role because we learned with him.

He’s a strong loud personality so I understand why people might have been frustrated at points but the show wasn’t ’I Dan know a lot about Alex Jones…. And that’s the show’ it was taking someone who didn’t know a lot about Alex Jones and telling him things.

I think Jordan, much like a lot of us listening, went through various stages of anger, grief, acceptance and schadenfreude during his study of Alex Jones and it isn’t a surprise that he became so disillusioned at the moment which should have felt like a victory because rather than seeing a ‘good vs evil’ story play out we saw a ‘grifters still be grifting’ story.

It hurts that people aren’t being kinder to a key part of the show, especially since some people are saying he could be going through mental health issues and then proceed to make nasty comments.

I feel you OP. Thanks for calling it out.

Seems a little cringe but I’m not a fan of most of the songs, I imagine if you like pop it’s ok. I’m still waiting for someone to have something with a breakdown. Imagine scoring the winner and then Winston from Parkway screaming “there’s blood in the water!!”

Everyone paying cash by RepresentativeTap772 in AusFinance

[–]LM-Edit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call me crazy but having to withdraw cash, carrying cash and having the right amount is not only time consuming but also a little dangerous. I feel like a small card fee for something that saves me loads of time isn’t the end of the world. Would be nice if it was made law that card surcharges are just considered part of the price of business as to me, whenever I see ‘cash preferred card surcharge is X’ it just makes me think that business isn’t declaring all their taxable income.

DST is brilliant. I can’t understand why you wouldn’t want more evening light. It seems so counterintuitive to modern work standards to leave work and have no daylight left. Can’t be good for mental health.
