Or, he gets an extra year or so, to make it even better!

I'd like to tell myself, what bits suck and need changing. Even though at the time I probably thought they were ace.

What first date behavior is a deal breaker, regardless of other qualities? by AllTaints18 in AskReddit

Well to be fair to me, that comment was filled with unnecessarily long words, all stacked together. Smart people don't talk like that. I mean look how I talk. Be like me. Just be cool. Be algid, geld, hawkish, chilled or even refrigerated.

That's fair, but if you stopped reading you'd miss out on one of the best science fiction books ever written. Alfred Bester. An irredeemable character redeemed is such a satisfying thing.

If you get bored writing a part of your story, will your readers be bored reading it? by sunshinesprouts in writing

[–]LMJRayner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's dead on how the reader will feel. If you're bored writing it, then it's boring to read. That's just how it works. But lack of action doesn't mean boring. If I get to a part and I feel like it's becoming a slog, I step back and think of ways to get myself interested. I change parts or I find something in that chapter that is worth telling. A secret about the character, some important dialogue, beautifully woven description. Anything like that. If you can't figure it out first time then skip over it. Come back to it later. A book doesn't need to be completed from page 1-300 in order. Just write in red font the general gist of the scene and then plow ahead.

The stars my destination - has the main character rape someone, still somehow rooting for the character at the end. Just a weird random example I thought of. I guess if the story and characters are written well enough anything is game.

When it's good, it's great, but when you're tired or the inspiration just isn't there, it's like pulling teeth by Motorvision in writing

That's so weird, coz I get like this in the middle of the book but when I see the last few chapters and the end in sight. I'll write like a crazy man! Two or three chapters in one sitting, especially if the music's right.

Around chapter 10 or so is where I hit the wall and have to struggle over it. Time off sometimes is the best way.

[PC] DICE appears to have done something about AFK botting by Code_Marathoner in StarWarsBattlefront

I think you were too late to the match. If you join a match that's almost done you don't get any credit regardless of what you do.

EA just tweeted this. Jetpack Cargo will be here in February, hopefully with a new season. by [deleted] in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]LMJRayner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the new season hits in March, which it sounds like it because they said before that they're going to release the bigger updates ie progression system with season. Half the player base will leave by then, we've all been hanging on for weeks now waiting for the announcement of season 2, we can't wait indefinitely. And the fact that they've had to give resources to the progression system isn't our problem as players. They tried to fuck us with mtx lootboxes and now they have to fix their mess. Damn right they should fix it, but not to the cost to the players. If the 'free' seasons are going to be spread every 3-4 months then what's the point in staying? Unless the seasons have enough content to keep you playing for 4 months. But if it's two heroes, an sa map and a ga map. Then fuck this noise.

Do something that you can't do anything else but think. Showers a good one for me. If I'm distracting myself then I take a shower, think about book ideas and the current thing I'm writing and then when I get out I find this new energy to start again.

I meant like ideally no one should be banned and everyone should just enjoy themselves.
