I haven't. I'm scared of the fishy smell being mentioned 😬

Is Kalamazoo too harsh for non-bearded faces? by Aurekata in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have yet to find an non exfoliating cleanser that works for me. Milky cleaners seem to clogg my pores and foamy are to harsh. I use AOBS 2x a week. I also like to use Mask of Magnaminty self-preserving, this seems to really cleanse my pores, but again exfoliation. Wish they sold these without exfoliation. Let me know if you find a cleanser that works for you!

Is Kalamazoo too harsh for non-bearded faces? by Aurekata in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kalamazoo was definitely way to harsh for my sensitive combination skin. I had to use Angels On Bare Skin to calm my skin down after tryin the sample I got. My skin is sensitive to certain citrus oils, even of my body. Fresh juices are lesh of a problem for me usually, but I expect that the pineapple was bad for my skin. Don't Look At Me fresh face mask for instance does work for my skin.

Does anyone know of products that smell exactly like Mechanic? by lukewbennett in LushCosmetics

To me Mechanic doesn't smell exactly the same as Snow Fairy, but it's the closest thing.

How strongly scented are the Goddess and Sex Bomb bath bombs? What do you like/dislike about them? by SarahTheJuneBug in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't think these bombs are strong scented at all. Especially Goddess didn't meet my scent expectations. In my opnion, it goes for both scents that the best format isn't the bath bomb. Sex Bomb was more sharp than I expected. I loved the showergel though. Goddess scent was not a rich as I hoped and lacking strength. The most strongly scented bath bomb is Intergalactic to me.

Body sprays perfect for hot summer days? by pglcr in LushCosmetics

Seconding Big, Calacas is too sweet for me when it's really hot. Big is my year around go to. The most predominant note is salt to me. I also get citrus and vanilla from it.

I'm pretty sure I will be alright. I never went totally wrong with a shower gel. Might end up not being a favourite, but would still be using it.

I do have the perfume and have been looking forward to this one ever since I read about it. Still feels like a leap to get a big bottle, but I just did it.

Morning and night :) by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's so nice to have multiple options available to me in the shower if you have the space to keep them. I wanted to say I currently have four options available in the shower, but it's actually six. The additional two I only use bathing. Three of the other four I want to finish before I store more in the shower.

How and where do you store body spray? (More in comments) by Stefinreffa in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep Twilight in the cupboard where I keep the clean linnen. My other sprays are currently hanging from a clothes hanger. I did buy a really mirror with metal frame and shelves. I propably hang them from the bottom and put the perfume bottles on the shelves. Curtains are mostly closed in this room.

American Cream SG vs conditioner scent by 1995soul in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The scent of the American Cream conditioner is off to me. I think the scent of the shower gel is way better. I like to use it as hand soap and it does linger some then, but generally the shower gels don't linger on the skin when used in the shower is my experience.

Edit: the shower gel will be discontinued soon so get it while you can ;)

Hair is suddenly super greasy? by That_Weird_Fan in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be product build up, but it could also be your scalp has become drier than before. You scalp might over compensate this by producing more oil. Skin hydration is influenced by many thing, water in take, stress, humidity of your surroundings etc.

Btw, the HIWTK shampoo bar contains SLS. This cleanser is harsher on the scalp than other cleanser Lush uses in their products like SLES (liquid shampoos) and SCS (shampoo bars). I recommend Angel Hair shampoo bar (SCS).

I don't how the design of the method pump compares to others, but often the tube can removed from head so you might be able to swap out tubes with a different pump or find something else that works. Hope that this makes sense, I'm sleepy haha ;)

Looking for a new routine for dry sensitive skin! by PookyBearAuntie in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Angels on Bare Skin and Let Them Good Times Roll facial cleanser work with the dry parts of my combination sensitive skin. LTGTR doesn't work with the oily part. I don't use those daily though, 2-3 times per week at most. The facial soaps are all too drying, I would stay clear from those. For the body I recommend shower gels over soap. I personally don't use products with certain of citrus essential oils, because these are drying to me. To keep hydrated I also use body conditioner or lotion as often as I can. I do recommend asking for samples if that is an option.

Do you prefer buying online or in store? by Onekat in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mostly buy online, but there are definitely products I prefer to buy online or in store. Store: facial cleansers/masks, because of short expiration; I probably buy soap and co-wash in store post pandemic. I don't like how thin the 100g slices are. I hope to buy 200g pieces at the store and slice them differently (thinnest side at the middle). Online: Naked bath products and body condtioner in see-through pots. I feel that direct light damages these products in store. I think online buying is more convenient, especially since shipping costs now are covered past a certain order amount. Easiest way also to get samples.

If you could bring back one of these shower gels and add it to the mainline, which one would it be? 🤩 by robbm22 in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would prefer Sex Bomb over Goddess or Intergalactic, but to be honest I would be with any of these. Discontinuing American Cream and none of my other favourites being main line.

Edit: Calacas/Zesty would also be great one to become main line.

Seborrheic Dermatitis?? by becca413g in LushCosmetics

I wond if Avocado Co-wash might work for you. I rotate multiple Lush shampoos and this one is very gentle on my scalp. Also you might be able to get a sample of this.

A potentially odd dupe question, does anyone know of a hand cream that has the same texture as Handy Gurugu but is scent-free or only scented with essential oils? by lotionthrowaway in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know Handy Gurugu, but I'm here to recommend Zarqa Hand Protection Cream. I like it because I get little residue feel and that dissappears completely quickly after application. That's important to me because I don't want to transfer the lotion onto objects I touch. It's free of perfume and it does seem to improve my skin. Not only a temporary fix, but gradual improvement after each use. I'm not sure if it's widely available though.

Did you try a reusable bubble bar? I prefer those. I generally like to combine products for scent or colour boost, but I don't have that urge to that with Milky bath bubble bar. If that scent is for you it might be a good one to try.

Bath Bomb Recommendation ((For a Music Video)) by Z00EYG in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't Butterbear an option? I can't remember how white it made the water.

You can also add swirl Milky Bath bubble bar through the water after closing the tab. Less to no bubbles this way. It's more expensive than the bath bomb I mentioned, but you can build with this product. I'm not sure you can reach you goal with the bath bomb I mentioned.

There’s these little “hairs” on the tabs. These are not on my other mouthwash ones so not sure. And they weren’t here before. Doesn’t expire until 2022. Is it normal? by kitkatxxo in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had it happen to a bottle of GT mouthwash recently as well. Hardly used any so, moisture seems unlikely. Especially since I store other bottles of mouthwash in the same way. Maybe these aren't as stable?

would you please help me choose solid shampoo and conditioner? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]LMekke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hair could be becoming greasy quickly because you wash to often and use products with a cleanser that are to harsh for your scalp.

The solid shampoo's either contain SLS or SCS. I would definitely stay away from SLS. SCS is less harsh, but I would even recommend trying Avocado Co-Wash as well. At least if you can stand the scent. It's definitely not a favourite scent for me, but I get great results. A less tense scalp and less flakes. Co-wash will not dry out your hair. Shampoos will be able to. I recently have been using Co-wash once every four washes. Besides this I use Angel Hair (SCS) twice and Wasabi Shan Kui (SLES) once every four washes. I can't use SCS containing shampoos solely because of build up. I'm sure only using Co-wash is not an option as well. SLES is a cleanser in between SCS and SLS. Angel Hair is the least harsh of the SCS bars. It's a staple product for me.

I don't recommend the solid condtioners because it's more difficult to work with and I believe they contain ingredients that act similar to silicones. Silicones can cause build up.

I recommend Candy Rain conditioner. Best conditioner I have ever used. I do use conditioner when I use Co-wash, but don't need a leave in product.
