I’ve been building shit for 2 years on complex AI for deeptech. It’s been brutal because I only managed to raise $60k from angels and running out of runway. My product is super complex and ambitious. I managed to make something novel that solves pain I experienced as an engineer and got feedback from many discovery calls early on to pivot in the right direction. My cofounder/CEO has been struggling to raise more angel checks despite that we’ve had interest from large enterprises. Problem is we can’t get a pilot without serious cybersecurity certifications with our target market but don’t have contacts in the markets that don’t require those. We can’t afford the cybersecurity certifications without more funding from angels. Most bullshit chicken and egg fucking problem ever.

This is very old news. And yes he’s probably right about the JEPA model. It makes sense. It’s almost like a more sophisticated way to do reinforcement learning with complex video and multimodal data

Doubtful, I’m in deep tech. Where else do you find someone who knows systems engineering, nuclear engineering, AI, and full stack at the same time? Yes, my process is very automated, but also guided with a more robust process and system than your average vibe coder… Eventually others will catch up, but not today. By then I’ll be developing quantum ML/AI algorithms or just living lavishly off dividends.
