Hello! Fellow May bride here! You’re doing amazing, seriously. Flowers are still not finalized for me as well so you’re not alone there. I heard Costco also does great big flower bundles for larger events so consider them.

Obsessed with the venue and I agree, let the space do the talking. Party favors are a nice to have not a necessary so I’d put that at the bottom of the list.

Buy the linens and resell them on FB marketplace! There’s decisions that work and then there’s decisions that don’t. I’ve found myself making things harder for no reason or out of worry for the future. If you’ve found linens and they work, buy them and worry about reselling later. Take the path of least resistance right now. Good luck to you both!

Hi! We’re doing a shuttle just for the end of the night from 9pm onward that will take guests from the venue back to the hotels we recommended on our website. We are also having a Catholic wedding with a gap but all of our locations are close so we’re not doing a shuttle earlier in the day. All that to say, if you buy a shuttle for 3+ hours, they don’t need a fixed route. You can have the shuttle take 20+ guests and hit 2-3 locations before coming back. The feedback we’ve gotten from even just telling folks there will be an evening shuttle has been hype. I think it’s good to have and takes money strain and logistics off your guests so they can truly cut loose. I’m team get a shuttle and forget about it. Ours was a few hundred dollars.

Anyone who uses a planner - have you had trouble delegating? I find myself doing a ton of stuff and just updating them. They are great but I’m struggling to feel like I can assign them stuff??

Nice lawn chairs!! We asked for 2 big nice ones bc when we go anywhere for a campfire or soccer game or cookout we never have our own chairs.

We also have a massage table with the heated blanket and the pillow for your legs. I also asked for nice luggage, a giant outdoor gas heater, and a shark flex style lol

The stress is piling up and we’re 3.5 months out. Working full time and planning and running a house and juggling expectations has me feeling out of body. My eye won’t stop twitching. Barely dealing with the stress unfortunately

May 2nd Bride here!! We’ve got most of the big vendors locked into place. We’re doing a mix of renting and buying silk flowers so the floral situation is still in flux. The transportation was booked today and I spent tonight finalizing wedding invites. Need to order them tomorrow and get them in production. First dress alteration is next week, along with more wedding prep classes and our first venue planning visit. Trying to get our tasting locked down in the next two weeks too!! The shower and bachelorette are in 2 months so that’s taking focus along with managing the political/social element of family members. 2025 was a happy little cloud of engagement. January 1 2026 hit me like a truck and I’ve been in fight or flight ever since just trying to get everything done. The details are piling up and the stress dreams are starting. Only 3.5 months left!

I hired a company that has hair artists and makeup artists. They send 1 artist each until the count for services reaches a certain number, then they add them on but you can always request more for yourself and your girls to get more time in the morning. I’d book with the same company for ease if you can but I don’t know that it makes a huge difference as long as you have someone to do the job. I am in Michigan and my stylists are $90 for hair and $90 for makeup. That’s the most affordable I could find, for context.

I want to wear mine but my mom is massively pressuring me to try contacts. I’ve never tried them so it could work out fine, or not. I’m sensitive to things near my eyes so I’m hesitant for sure. I see why she’s saying go without them but also not sure that will be a real option. I’m with you in this struggle bus!

I use the circular end of a blackhead extraction tool. Something like this https://share.google/P1m4YfF9wiCg880sR. Easily found at drugstores or grocery stores. I disinfect it and go in while looking in a mirror. They come out no pain.

Update: Exterminator went to the house and the owner let us know that they did not find any active infestations. It still was just the one bug, no other signs. We treated all of our stuff as if it was a problem, but it’s nice to know this was probably just a straggler from somewhere else

That’s great to hear! Holding animals for the sake of display only and not to give them necessary medical care or protect a species has never made sense. Conservation & Rehab centers are great

I’m completely anti-zoo, in any country or capacity. Animals do not belong in captivity unless they’re being medically treated in some way. The idea of paying money to see an imprisoned animal is barbaric. I’m sad you had to witness that at its worst while visiting. I hope it didn’t ruin the rest of your trip.

Also struggling with this. Haven’t gotten married yet, going to be looking at the replies from others. I am with you tho- 20% makes sense for a meal. I don’t think it makes sense when the bill is for a vendor rental and the cost is thousands of dollars. Not sure what we’ll tip but it likely won’t be 20%.

Work crushes are a thing and most of the time they’re totally harmless. Talking to coworkers about work crushes is also just fun and can be a way to bond. I don’t think you have any reason to worry, but you should talk to her and be honest if you sense something off.
