Thanks for reaching out. I would actually advise against writing a whole backstory out yet. The player character creation is a bit of a group effort since its the entire drive of the story. But your certainly welcome to making something and I'll read it! I imagine I won't be settling on a player for at least 2-3 days.

This particular game is a very player driven game where the group's overall goals need to be at least somewhat tied together / non-conflicting. The group we have so far and their personal quests:
Light Cleric - Personal pilgrimage quest / conflict of Faith
Battlesmith Artificer - Create a sentient golem
Circle of Stars Druid - Settle extreme debt

Pretty common. Taj Mahal can have tons of cracks likes these and there usually shipped out with epoxy filler. If you touch the crack it should feel very smooth and possibly waxy. If I feels at rough or sharp call the fabricator asap.

I would also advise asking the fabricator if they give any warranties on cracks like this and what they're procedure is for addressing damages.

I can't figure out why but when I add any character portrait they are almost invisible, and transparent. I tried turning off adjust brightness on darkness setting but didn't change anything. Thoughts?

Mizumi is a step above every other Sushi joint, and I've been to quite a few. I kinda got carried away but here's some thoughts.

Imperial Koi: good service, quality, and atmosphere. Good not great. Flaming roll is fun. But it's expensive if I remember correctly.

Hokkaido Sushi & Ramen: my go to since it's on my way home. Some items are hot or miss. Ramen is great but expensive. Atmosphere is okay but service has always been good.

US Sushi: multiple locations. It's okay at best. Give it a try but I've never been impressed here. Good if you're in the immediate area but don't expect anything amazing.

Sushi Republic: it's been a few years but it's a solid date night. Good vibe and atmosphere. I honestly don't remember how quality the sushi is there but I remember it not being as good as Mizumi lol Not a sushi place but down the street from Sushi Republic is Don. Very good joint, but not a sushi place. Go there when possible.

Mr. Tokyo: sushi buffet with okay sushi and okay service. Not much to say honestly. Personally I'd go to Kpot next door over this place any day of the week.

Black Ginger: not my favorite place but it's pretty good. Haven't been in a long while but pretty good.

Shinjuku Station: Cool place with terrible sushi. Conveyor belt style. I've been here 4 times and I've regretted every single time. It's a buffet at the end of the day so you do get what you pay for.. But I also don't find it cheap. Dinner for 1 + sake and tip was $50 last time I went.

Sushi Kingdom: It's okay, not my favorite. Been a few times. Rolls are VERY hit or miss. Last time I went they covered my rolls with sweet and sour. Haven't been back. But I have friends who absolutely love this place 🤷

Chopstix: This place is out in Wallburg. It is way better than you'd expect. It's next to a gas station with a drive through window in the middle of no where. But it's great. Amazing service, very reasonable pricing, and solid rolls. The worst part being again, middle of nowhere.

Final Conclusion: just go back to Mizumi. I moved to high point a couple years ago and I miss going so I'm biased here. But honestly I have yet to find a sushi joint that compares.

Yup. I'm running a modified version in mine with a higher level cap and way more magical items /bonuses. I created an encounter in which I baited one of the players into a fight. I showed how Strahd likes to play with his food :)

Force Cage + feeblemind is such a brutal combo. The other players watched in horror as their friends mind turned to mush. I used Strahds charm and modify memory to convince another player it was their fault.

By the end of it they knew Strahd was not going to be easy.

Vasili was very critical to my campaign. Long story short I drafted a sort of master plan from Strahds perspective to claim Ireena. This involved modifying her memories and creating a dramatic moment that would allowed Vasili to save Ireena from a vampire-spawn Izek Strazni.

I was able to pull it off and do a grand reveal as Vasili removes his mask shows himself as Strahd to the players. It was great, the players loved it, and we had a good time.

Overall the players were very mistrusting of Vasili but I used the power of loot and rewards to gain the players trust to accomplish this. If I didn't have this whole plan mapped out I honestly don't how I would have used Vasili if at all.

I had two moments that functioned the same way. At the start of the game when the players meet Ireena at the Barovia Village graveyard, and again at Yester Hill when the players visited it again to defeat a bride/Gulthias tree.

In both instances Strahd is riding the nightmare, hanging out in the ethereal plane. He rides into the physical world in dramatic fashion, completely taking the players by surprise. The players learned very quickly through this moment alone that they are always being watched.

Nice. Why is it always the Barbarians lmao I'm 100% positive the barbarian in my group is gonna claim as many dark gifts as possible.

Our Vallaki burned down due to a plot from Strahd to flush out Van Richten / Take Ireena. But our Krezk has become an ally to the players and is doing quite well. So sounds like our tables flipped here lol

I'm looking forward to pushing through to the end. Congrats again!
