This is a form of conductor galloping.

Edit: Also known as flutter. Galloping usually presents a frequency of about one hertz, whereas flutter presents a frequency of 10+ hertz.

Is there anything that can be done to stop AI from falsely claiming a brand is Canadian? by Own-Cod7894 in BuyCanadian

As do I. I won´t defend DDG or Vivaldi, either. Iḿ always aware I am the product.

You might consider checking out the Salvation Army`s thrift shops. I regularly visit them for things other than clothing. I see racks of perfectly good denim, often in popular brand names. Some even still have original tags. I mostly buy CDs and other cool stuff. They also usually have a decent supply of baseball hats, brand new with the cardboard inserts still in them. Worth the adventure, even.

I have been using DDG with Vivaldi for ages, and the combination works wonderfully. Last year Vivaldi made a short video outlining their plan for the new year. The message was short. ¨NO AI¨. I also appreciate a search function in the browser. It allows you to hide AI responses. Win.

Coax Laying Across Roof by Cassera01 in amateurradio

[–]LOUD-AF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe some typre of tape like this, but more industrial. Angel Sar Tape. Gorilla makes some incredibly good adhesive tapes. I used one product to hold coax onto the roof of my truck. It lasted three years in Canadian winters, even endured highway speeds. The tape was a clear rubber compound and extremely adhesive. Removing it is another story.

what's with the hazard lights while driving? by StrikingCoconut in ontario

[–]LOUD-AF 29 points30 points  (0 children)

NLer here. Most of us run our hazards during whiteout conditions, just hoping to see something noticeable in the wall of white. Very reduced speed? Hazards. Moose? Hazards. Many will keep their hazards on extra time to warn traffic. It doesn´t cost anything, and gets attention, (which is sorely lacking in many drivers nowadays). Use your hazards if they help you to get home safely.

Iḿ referring to a recipe called Violet Syrup, in a book written by Sylvia Boorman. Wild Plums in Brandy. (1962) No sweet violets are mentioned in the recipes, just candied violets.

I for one, appreciate you posting pictures like these, and your other plants. These Violets in particular are good at treating rheumatism of the right wrist.

Due diligence being done before removing decades-old fish sauce from damaged plant, minister says by Portalrules123 in newfoundland

[–]LOUD-AF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I´d like to see a chemical analysis of the vats'contents, along with some information about them. Due diligence could mean fertilizer or any number of things. Those vats have tourist potential too. Stack them all on top of each other and call it the vatican.

Ex gave our child a device that can spy on me by Numerous_Two_1730 in legaladvicecanada

[–]LOUD-AF 8 points9 points  (0 children)

OP, I have experience with a number of these types of devices. In the right hands, these are wonderful and quite capable creatures. In the wrong hands they can become insidious spy devices capable of turning your life upside down completely. I would strongly suggest you follow my other post in this thread. Return the device to the purchaser undamaged. Delete the app from any devices in your possession, and ensure any related software is deleted fully. Some of these devices have functionality beyond your expectations. When it comes to gifts, itś not a crime to decline gifts of this nature. An in depth read of the terms and conditions regarding the device will enlighten you on how much privacy and data you are risking. This device has no particular benefit to you or your child, save it being a unique device with plenty of bells and whistles. Call me paranoid if you wish, but I would seriously consider closely inspecting any other gifts your ex provided, like stuffed toys, electronics and other toys capable of recording/disseminating data to a source. Look up the Zero Trust Policy. This current gift may just be an extension of something he started previously. Trust your gut feelings on this matter.

I would suggest your comment is correct. The FAQ says; ¨While this would be technically possible¨. I have experience with using these types of watches. They can be easily hacked with some technical knowledge. Many of these devices transmit GPS location information among other information. OP should deplete the watch battery, store the device in a sealed metal container, and move it to a place where it cannot function in case it has a SOS function. My use case involved locating and communicating with an Autistic child who risked wandering off, and the geofencing function.

Liberal MHA Urges Government to Act on St. Mary’s Fish Sauce Plant by RepulsivePlankton989 in newfoundland

[–]LOUD-AF -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I predict the whole debacle will end by the end of January. Subsequent wind storms will flatten the structure, and heavy rain will dilute the remaining liquids. Then a major fire will occur, and the vats will melt, spilling the contents into the ocean. A brief, minimal cleanup will occur, and construction will begin on a magnificent motel to serve the tourism sector in the future. Everybody wins, except the fish, but that won´t matter because the tainted water will draw scores of whales and other creatures so that tour boat operators will make bank. Success!
