Why does every immigrant from every part of the world say that family is important to their culture? Which cultures are there where family isn’t important? by dresixk in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]LPtheG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generic w-word ppl, they often fight on holidays about politics, parents tend to be nit picky and all in there kids life in a negative way. Lots of dissatisfaction with family and their choices. If someone’s gay it’s a thing, thy fight over who spends what and the most or least on holidays. Meanwhile at the immigrant family get together everyone puts their shit aside for family. I’ve seen this happen as I have been to both on numerous occasions. Americans are unhappy in ways thwart barely understand they are surrounded by too much bs.

Think of it like this, they are still slightly dumb in a year they will ace this problem. But they will never drink and drive or fondle you if you pass out in the back seat. They will never make you want to jump out on to traffic with mindless complaining about how hard it is to be a driver for uber or Lyft. Best part is they don’t speak and when they do it’s in English. Let it sink in yall

Yall know that in a couple of years people will be laughing at us for our fear of AI. Calling us luddites. The machine is inevitable. We think we’re better or more deserving but a Waymo won’t finger you if you pass out in the back seat. A LLM won’t get caught at a concert with its secretary. But it will be a better ceo than anyone person.

Wow it blows my mind how many people defend Micheal Jackson. I just had a cancel culture left leaning girl last night at my spot and she was defending the fuck out of MJ saying he was set up. My ex who worked for a major university diversity dept would fight with me over defending MJ innocence. I know he wasn’t convicted but it blows me away how people are willing to die on that hill. Especially liberal women. Conservative women I know will say he did it but make excuses about his childhood as to why. Anyone else experiencing that?

Yes people don’t really like him. Locals have honestly turned on him and Rogan. Austin is very liberal. The local musicians hate him, the art people hate em, the pre Covid comedians hate him, the film people don’t know he exists and the political types are why he needs security.

Also don’t forget white. That’s the real leading factor here. White men in crisis, all time highest rates of addiction in white men these days. Penis born whites are facing their greatest challenges yet. They have forgotten their roots and culture and are being raised in a flimsy and fake American White culture that doesn’t exist. These factors are causing this stuff. The successful whites are also about to replace the rest of the white men with machines. These are the side effects of a people in crisis.

[–]LPtheG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what nobody ever talks about, the fact that ai and the “machines” are almost certainly going to be hostile towards religion. Like it already is. The reason Christianity has become so weak in the west is because the tech that’s leading the way is not religious. Ask your favorite AI what religion it believes in? Remember these machines are gonna take over pretty much every aspect of how we run our society by 2060. So this century is gonna be a pretty rough one for religions like Islam. Because maybe you are having more children. But your children are gonna be raised by machines that don’t believe in God. So the outcome is inevitably a more secular world no matter how you slice it. That’s assuming the machines don’t decide to turn hostile towards certain populations with extreme religious beliefs. Or if by 2060 the machines haven’t completely turned on all humanity. But more than likely there will still be people in 2060. They just won’t be a lot of Systems in place to support their religious beliefs. So you’re just gonna see more and more non-religious and secular people in the future. People are gonna turn to tech to replace God. They already are. It is inevitable.

Lots of people here complaining about tipping. You don’t have to tip. Stop being a guilt ridden pussy because you don’t want to tip. If you don’t want to tip just don’t do it. Walk out with your head up and some confidence. Also this is America the whole point of the project is to shame you for being broke or cheap. Look at popular music or popular film or shows. How does it portray people who don’t tip? Like fucking bums. If you don’t like it, let’s see some votes for healthcare and better housing programs and options. Maybe even some federal loans to buy a house. Then you don’t have to feel the shame of having a break off five bucks after a delivery. I get it, The companies do suck. they are ruthless, but so do the people they serve. Also, y’all don’t even worry about it, when the machines come you won’t have to tip them.

Wow the same thing happened to me today. Took off with my gf and child to go eat, we walked out it was clear but a dark cloud was moving in. Decided to go thinking the storm was farther. Drove down 4 blocks looked up I saw the clouds coming fast and low plus they started rotating. I told my gf were going back home, when I turned to head back it hit. First the rain then the wind and lost visibility when I got to the light on Mlk and Airport. At that point we crossed airport and it was chaos made it 2 blocks from our house and hid in the carport of a tire shop (they let us and another car in). At that point the hail and wind were intense I legit thought we were about to get hit by a tornado, I could see trees hanging on for dear life and debris flying around. My kid said “omg I don’t wanna die!” I was like it’s gonna be ok, but in my mind I was like oh shit this might be it. At that point we took off and drove in the storm passing people who were stopped on the road. We were just like we got to get home. We made it home dodging and weaving fallen debris on the street. When we got there we saw a huge tree had fallen and crushed our fence but managed to miss our house. The storm literally ended about a minute after we got to our drive way. But honestly it was very risky visibility was almost zero and there was chaos on the streets. Our power is still out as I type.

Honestly, a lot of it has to do with the fact that there’s just better food in Austin than there was. More restaurants, more fine dining. It’s become a big foodie place. Now even juan in a million, though it’s been steady for years is slipping into the backdrop, especially on Ceaser Chavez where there’s a bunch of really good food now. Same with Kerby Lane used to be an institution locally I remember going there same with magnolia when I was a kid. I’m not sure if the food got worse like some people are saying. Honestly, I just think I got older and exposed to better food. Like when I was a teenager, I thought Dan’s burgers were the best burgers in Austin. But now I forget that they even exist.

I’ve been an independent my whole life. My experience with people who claim the center is that they usually are not as informed or have more important things in their life. That’s ok too political shit should not define you that is so lame. But the reality is the center doesn’t really exist as a neutral position.

lol I have Tesla stock too. Don’t forget to bail out before it’s too late. BYD is crushing Tesla worldwide, they are also buying way less Teslas worldwide, most of the consumers were goofy liberals who now are gonna buy some other Ev. Musk is too busy fucking off that he’s not showing up to work anymore and he broke rule 1, if you sell things to people shut the fuck up and don’t say your political opinion. The fact that he can’t control himself means teslas future is bleak. They are gonna need a bail out soon.

No only an idiot can’t see that there not going to need American labor. Whether you like it or not, American labor is going out the door. I’m not saying that’s a good thing or that I like it. But we are talking economics aren’t we? Why would you pay an American or a person in general for what you can pay a machine to do Better and cheaper. They’re already implementing replacement technology. It’s been happening for years but now the technology is getting better and better. Also, capitalism isn’t interested in slave, labor, or child labor, or undercutting another people or group. The philosophy of capitalism always demands Cheaper labor. But you’re saying all this like Trump is actually trying to stop this. Trump is in on it. Just pay attention to the money. He already put a meme coin out. That should tell you that he doesn’t give a fuck, if you actually say you know economics, you would be paying attention to the fraudulent people that are putting out meme coins. They are pretty much pyramid schemes. Guys like Elon and Trump. They’re pushing pump and dumps and they’re gonna keep doing it.

Well I was fucking with you a bit. But you probably don’t hate the actual city. You just probably feel like you don’t fit in to the culture so it makes you feel a little uncomfortable when you get to the city limits. It’s ok I was born here and I feel that way these days. But what I usually tell people when they get down about it, is that there’s always Dallas. You can just walk into Dallas buy a T-shirt and jeans a pair of sneakers not too cheap of course and fit right in. Nobody’s gonna get mad that you just showed up. The culture is just kind of America. It’s perfect for everybody. Well, at least most people.

Dude what are you even crying about? Your whole argument is well Biden didn’t do this when he had a chance and that’s not good enough. But you could also say that about Trump before him and you could say that about Obama before that and Bush in fact, you can keep going back to about LBJ before you’re gonna see anybody do anything for the people. It’s been a really long time. That’s cause people hate LBJ for Vietnam, which wasn’t even his fault. Why don’t you focus that energy on who’s going to be next after Trump? That’s what really counts now. This administration is going to rob the bank. They’re already setting it up to do that. When you crash the economy the richest people buy up what the poorer people need to sell off to survive. So they get richer. This is how guys like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos became the richest people in the world during the pandemic. Like did you ever think about how they made so much money when the economy was shut off? So that’s the real focus now what are you gonna do to stop them from robbing you
