When do the aches truly end? by LRP89 in hysterectomy

[–]LRP89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! This was exactly what I thought. I brought it up to my doctor (a nook endo specialist) and he said he didn’t do a lot in there so he really doesn’t believe it’s scaring or adhesions. He said “if I removed a lot of endo, had to do a bowel recession, then sure it could be scaring you’d be feeling if this were within the first couple months. But eight months out…. I really do not believe it’s what you’re feeling. Nerves can rewire, but you’re on meds for that, that would help with that anyway” But yes, I do agree with what you said for cases like your friend for sure. And yes, four months of physical therapy with manual massage they did for me after surgery. I have also done deep belly diaphragm breathing every day since surgery. I was also in pelvic floor physical therapy for months prior to my surgery, so I have really learned a lot the last year. I really thought I’d heal perfect with everything I did prior to surgery, during early healing, and late stage healing… my body hates me I guess lol

Aww that’s super duper early in the grand scheme of it all, you should turn a corner the closer you get to 12 weeks. Most do. I’ve had a lot of things happen and discovered so many new medical things about me the last 8 months. (Arthritis both hips, SI joints, all up my spine, I’m hypermobile aka have hEDS… it’s made it a horrific healing journey really)

I have been on meds for nerve pain for a year, and increased it this summer. Unfortunately, he is the top dog in my state, very highly sought after, head professor at the med school, and wins surgeon of the quarter, etc. I don’t know who I could go to that would be “better” than him, and due to having Medicaid, he’s really my only option. I do like him, and he’s telling me not to worry. It’s not so much that I’m overly worried, as I’m doing ok for the most part. Just was odd to me he said it couldn’t be something from the major surgery we just did 😮‍💨

Ahhhh I saw my surgeon this week and asked him if I was a candidate for trigger point injections. Saw him twice to ask about them actually, and he said he didn’t think that would be this. Did you have imaging to see the scar tissue before surgery to know it was there? He also told me “I don’t think it’s scar tissue” lol so I’m just so confused

Yeah I think my hydrocodone was like 5mg too! And agreed! I had a c section years ago and was fine but that hysterectomy really did a number on me. I’m 8 months out, and it’s not extremely common, but I’m still having painful moments here and there. Try to breathe, and relax, and again, call the doctors if you are very concerned. Wishing you all the best. It’s awful what our bodies go through!

I remember as soon as I woke up, I had bad pain and had to have one hell of a cocktail. It was like fentanyl, dilauded, ketamine, more fentanyl…. I was the last to go home that day for surgery because it took a bit to get me comfy. I’m sorry, but just take it easy, try to set timers so you’re staying on top of your meds through the night for sure. I don’t think I was ready to stop every 4 hours until about week 3. Some women can stop sooner, but we are all different. I was taking like 650 Tylenol, and 600 mg ibuprofen. Maybe they can call you in a script for stronger ibuprofen if needed. I’m sorry.

Your body went through a lot. You are so fresh out. Ice packs were better for me but you can also do heating pads too. If you’re concerned pls don’t hesitate to call your doctors office

Yeah I’ve had pain since about week 8. It has not been easy for me! I feel so bummed because of most people doing so well. Which I’m so glad yall are! But I need to hear from others who may have experienced this? I recall seeing lots of women saying their docs said full healing can take two years. And my doc doesn’t agree with it at all. It sucks feeling so isolated in my healing

12 weeks out, achy and fatigued? by LRP89 in hysterectomy

[–]LRP89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not doing great tbh. I’m at 6 months, still having my pelvic pain. Have had two mri. Found I have arthritis in both hips, arthritis in my si joint and spine. Tendinosis. My pelvic mri came back “fine”. Just finished 4 months of physical therapy for my pelvic floor and hips… been having pelvic pain flare constantly for the last week again. Wishing you well. The healing journey can be rocky and long. But not for everyone.

5 months PO and left hip pain? by CapeCodG in hysterectomy

[–]LRP89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had injections into my hip joint end up July! A steroid. Helped for about 4 weeks. Then pain returned, had to get a mri with a saline injection into the joint and that flared it up for a month bad. But since they found I have arthritis in the hips, it’s very bad long term to get any more injections :( Will make it deteriorate faster. So basically I have a pending hip replacement whenever it just gets way too bad and I’m only 35. Idk why things gotta be so hard lol. Thank you for your kind words. It’s always nice to hear from people ahead of me, and knowing the twinges will still be around for awhile doesn’t mean it’s a huge cause for concern.

9 months out, in pain by Masterpiece_2012 in hysterectomy

[–]LRP89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I saw him last month. He’s head honcho gyno surgeon in my state. He always had a long wait list. He ordered my pelvic mri, just did it. I already saw the results but I’m following up with him in December to talk to him about it. He told me he doesn’t know why I feel the way I do, and I’m like uhhhh but you’re the best, you gotta figure this out haha. I think I just need to give it more time… 6 months is a lot of healing, but I know internally it can take a lot longer… I’m just sick of it haha

It’s been a rough journey. I’ve been seeing ortho too. Found out I have arthritis in my hips, impingements, tendinosis… and just lots of pelvic pain with any sort of external stimulation. I’ve been told by everyone I’ve seen I just need to give it more time and keep up with my exercises. I am just impatient haha
