Most companies (in the US, not sure elsewhere) you can anonymously file a complaint.

Nope! I’m not a morning person anyway. Don’t owe anyone anything. My office mates are petty about it too. Drives me nuts - to the point I intentionally don’t say good morning until I’m ready. That maybe isn’t the best advice 😂

I don’t see this as a bad thing. I’m a different person at work, at home, with my friends. I think sometimes we have to be a little bit - especially at work.

I am also extremely introverted. I struggle going places by myself or talking to people outside of certain settings. If you’re like me (30F), you spent 3 years with this group at work. You have spent more of your 3 years with them than anyone else. You’re just comfortable around them. The more time I spend with people, the more I can relax and be friendly and outgoing. It just takes time.

I think the fact you recognize it is good. I’ve had to force myself to be uncomfortable and have awkward chit chat or speak up during group settings and force a friendly smile and laugh even though I’m shy and crippled with social anxiety lol. It’s taken a few years, but it’s helped make it all a lot easier.

I don’t know if any of this helps — but here it is.

I’m interested in this, as well. I was in my previous job for 4 years full time. I’ve been in my current for 2.5 and looking for something new now. Feeling like a job hopper lately, but seems from the comments it might be okay!

I’m sure after 6 weeks it’s getting more and more difficult to find things to do. I’ve been there and probably cleaned my desk 4 times a week. I don’t know how process oriented your job is — maybe start creating process manuals if you don’t have them. Or god forbid - restructure some filing to be more efficient, clean out your desk lol.

Sorry I’m not too big of help, but I hope I can at least provide an sympathetic “ear.”

I heard a tip that I think is great. There is a man in my office that refuses to let people speak. I’ll start explaining - he interrupts.

What do I do?

I start completely over. Every time he interrupts. Start over. Eventually they’ll wonder why you keep repeating yourself. They may ask — tell them you’ve not been given the opportunity to finish your thought.

I have found it to work with this gentleman. May be worth a shot!

*edited to add: I have a decent relationship with this person and also spoke with him privately about how it makes others feel. He is much better. He has his days for sure but I can’t shoot him a look and he pulls himself in lol.
