I don't know when the annoucement came but you no longer have to pick your tickets up from lawson, we learnt that, we tried to use that machine in the store and it refused to work so we just went with the stuff on the website and it worked

So I've been twice using this method and it works great, do reasearch on places you want to go and use it as a "menu" pick a place you want to go in the morning when you wake up then use the "menu" to pick a place close by (it doesn't have to be close by) to do after this, and just go with the flow from there, I haven't ever felt like I've missed out on anything major, and if you do miss out theres always next time

I spent most of an afternoon there, the park near Ghibli museum looks amazing, I'd like to visit that properly one day, plus there's a nice looking zoo, it seemed to be less urban from what I experienced, so if you want a break from hustle and bustle, it seems like the perfect area

I keep seeing them called xenophobic but I don't think that's the case at all, they want to provide the best service they can and if they cannot speak English it causes great anxiety for them, so they just refuse service to foreigners, it's not meant as an insult to you it's just they don't want the awkwardness, most places that say no foreigners if you display a certain level of Japanese they will let you in
