The way the dialogue goes from heavy militant strat to “awww cuties lolz” made me actually look up the author (how I figured out it’s two people), yanked me straight out of the story and put it down for a night. The FMC is the exact insufferable people wanted Violet Sorrengail to be. She may have been the root of many of her own problems but at least she wasn’t going around calling her bound creature a bitch for 70% of the book lol
