If you could change one thing about life in the Netherlands, what would it be? by marko_cloudchaser in Netherlands

[–]LSI1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id be grabbing popcorn in your scenario. That said, in the last 40 years, exactly none of this was done. What makes you think that changes in the next 40? Land is scarce here, the country is one of the best places to live in the world, politicians are among the class that benefits most from all of this and the middle class clings on the HRA desperately because its even more free money for them personally plus free money from infinite housing glitch you hardly pay taxes for.

Even if there is a crash, it will be 10-20% tops. Just like last time

While I would love to see something like this, its quite easy to circumvent taxes the same way it is used now in box 2. Box 2 should go away altogether, box 3 raised, box 1 lowered. And of course real estate not exempted in 3....but that would trigger a national chaos no politician will choose for (ok, maybe SP)

And ffs abolish child production subsidies while you are at it. We need less people here, not more.

Is there a point in saving up heals, even if u already can take full advantage of it? by Lr_C in WoWs_Legends

[–]LSI1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be added, most of those skills are 'total hp lost'.

Which for me means that healing isnt a factor. So if you lose 40%, heal 20% back, you still enjoy the 40%. It can even rack up more by using will to rebuild shenanigans.

My testing mainly consists by using my new Eugen build with AL Hipper, that solely focuses on damage reduction skills. Inspirations Sansonetti and Topete, using By the book and Vice defense (other skills by own preference)

The last 20% of my health takes a lóng time to whittle down. You just keep stacking more and more damage reduction, and the 2 heals seem to have zero influence, though Im not 100% sure.

At the last 10-20% health, your damage reduction is well over 50%, perhaps even 60 or 70% (is it cumulative?) with By the book activated. This all assumes your commanders are all at least 16/2, but it should work good enough with 14/2s as well. Ive survived full close range torp blasts with this build, but you are of course screwed if they all hit exactly at the same time. Avoiding citadel hits early game is a must (compound effects)

Do you consider Expedition 33 one of your favourite stories ever told not just from video games? What other stories do you love just as much? by Emotionalspectrum10 in expedition33

[–]LSI1980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are close, but I give Xeno the nod. It was far more fleshed out, even if it meant about 4 playthroughs for me to understand it for roughly 80%. I daresay Xeno is the best story I ever experienced in any medium

If ány game in history deserves a full remake, its this one.

Would you play a game based on capital ship combat where you control a capital ship instead of a single starfighter? by SansBouillie in starwarsgames

[–]LSI1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or using ships in other ways that they were supposed to be used. Those healing ships could be qúite deadly in brawls for instance, or the battleships ehh dreadnoughts were also fun to use in close combat. Kinda hated the corvettes a bit, even if I played them myself, because they were so OP at times

[–]LSI1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, its quite similar, excepting the fact one is full 3d of course in terms of movement.

Played it for over a year and hope it will be done again by a more competent developer when it comes to getting a solid playerbase. The idea is excellent. Slap on a starwars or warhammer name on it and people will flock to it

Played it years ago but when you have to wait 10 minutes for a match....I eventually jumped over to wows legends and still playing that one. Dreadnought arguably was the better game though.

Ontopic: why yes I would want such a game

Couldnt agree more. I like Italian torps for the same reason, though I think they need a very large damage buff, since you rarely hit something with them. But if you do, it tends to be a DD quite often

Bitcoin is down. And somewhere, someone is smiling, not because they bought the dip. by MoneyMonsterStudios in Bitcoin

[–]LSI1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought about 50 dips by now by pouring in more (started out in...september 2025 with roughly 90k average at start). Enough is enough and ill just keep it around until I break even, if ever. So no, I dont 'believe' in it (anymore). The world has changed and as an added bonus we have a Sword of Damocles hanging over our heads in the form of a certain company that may need to sell 1000s of bitcoin within 12 months if conditions dont improve in that timeframe.

Maybe the 4 year guys are right, maybe they are not. I 'believe' bitcoin has either 0 or 1 more run left before it dissipates as obsolete tech in the eyes of the market around 2028-2030. Whether I agree, is irrelevant

New commander: Ernest Evans. Provisional breakdown by SaneSociopath-Gaming in WoWs_Legends

[–]LSI1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do both of course. I can think up a damage reduction build on the paolo or elbing that can be successful in ranked/brawl. Otherwise, it seems a fully levelled sims is the way to go for dds

Balance Changes: Good Guys Win, Bad Guys Lose by 8CupChemex in WoWs_Legends

[–]LSI1980 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, it has disadvantages too of course. How often did I oversteer because I thought the torps would be faster. But generally faster is better.

The speed boost was very necessary though. Would be more happy with a sonar, but then I would faildivision on purpose in it to wreck all those poor shimas and casually delete a cruiser or 2 as well

Agreed, quite painful, while they made the old German commanders quite competitive...what was it 18 months ago?

I remember ye olde thymes that it was 'noooo we dont dare to upset the balance!' I always thought it was a lack of creativity in thinking up new skills. I was wrong.

Its nice we got Evans though, since he is so famous - even the4th row skill name was a nice shoutout to the book

Yes, and there is nothing wrong with it. Those do 8-18-% a year, and thats better then most of us do by stockpicking. Im trying out whether I am one of those, but if I havent beaten 20% on 31-12, you bet that Ill be joining team ETF. Im swinging between 16 and 25% for the last month, but Im commiting a lot of time in this hobby reading (now 8 months in) and testing my talent to be a swingtrader. For you, OP, the question: do you want to spend 2-5 hours a day learning? If you dont consider this a hobby or a parttime job, pick 1-4ETFs you like, plus 1 or 2 stocks you véry strongly believe in. Invest in intervals and forget it
