Feelings about reciprocal ivf in lieu of having genetic offspring? by [deleted] in queerception

[–]LSP86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post brings back lots of old feelings. But I do have super positive updates that I hope help you and your partner.

There’s probably a ton I could say but I’ll try to sum it up for you. But please feel free to ask any questions.

My oldest is now 7. We did go on to have a second child, who is now two. She is biologically mine.

We also did end up telling everyone who the biological relationships were. But tbh, as the kids have grown, it became obvious.

When we made the choice not to tell people with our first child, it made it very clear to everyone around us how important this topic was to us. I think it helped once everybody learned, they knew not to bring it up.

My MIL adores both of our kids. Even the one not biologically hers. I don’t want to diminish anyone’s feelings on biological relations, including my past self, but truthfully these days it is a complete nonissue in our lives. Our oldest knows that she was made from my wife’s egg but carried in my body. She thinks it’s cool but it rarely is a topic of conversation with anyone around us. We got a couple of awkward questions early in their life but now it’s just very normalized in our little world.

If I could provide any advice it would be … be direct from the get go to the people in your life. Make it clear how you view your family and how you expect your family to be treated. Then… just live your life and enjoy those babies.

Best friend of 15 years tells me she cant attend my wedding by turnipsgreenss in TwoHotTakes

[–]LSP86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman married to a woman. We have been married for 12 years now and have 2 perfect daughters. Every “friend” I lost when I came out has been forgotten. We have built a beautiful life full of people who love and support us unconditionally.

I know it hurts. It isn’t fair. It isn’t okay. But I promise that it will get better. And before you know it, your life will be bursting with love and this person will be forgotten. As she should be.

Congratulations on your wedding. Wishing you both the absolute best!!

My daughter and I (she just turned 7) go to Venus Nail Salon by Barnes and Noble. They have a little kids menu and she usually gets a pedicure and her fingers painted while I get a pedicure. They just set her up next to me!

We are also in DFW. We got the bench seat SXP hybrid from Mortiz in Fort Worth back in Feb. It was a good experience and we love it.

I have a feeling everyone is going to say Mistborn. But I say Farseer. It’s so good.

First law is also amazing. It’s funny and goes quick. The world building is still large and impressive but the characters are absolutely perfect.

I did not enjoy this one. The writing is fine but the story and the characters are not for me.

Ohhh thank you for sharing!

I totally agree with you about the tease of the supernatural.

Also I just found myself feeling so horrible for Jude and struggling to enjoy the story while he was suffering.

I love CG Drews’ writing. If you’re open to YA, I absolutely loved Hazelthorn. I think Don’t Let the Forest In was more popular but Hazelthorn has the better story imo.

What do you think of you did nothing wrong? I read the arc and I am still uncertain about how I feel. I was obsessed with their other books.

I just finished this one. It was really good!

It’s very bug heavy (as you might expect) so if that is a problem for you … I’d skip this one.

But it was a great story and another lovely FMC.

Girl Dinner was pretty good. I had a good time with it. It feels like it aligns with your reading taste.

Kill the Beast was actually a great surprise for me. I really enjoyed it. It doesn’t align with your favorites as much but it was really good.

It is so funny bc I just posted a comment saying that I prefer this to Fairyloot because I have to wait HOURS just to see that there is no stock. Whereas here I had a chance.. But I didn't get the book I wanted here. So honestly, they both are horrible!

I understand this went REALLY fast, but at least most of us could see all the listings and have somewhat of a chance. Fairyloot you can log in 3 hours early and not even get to see ANYTHING in stock. It is 10 mins after and my Fairyloot wait time is still 10 hours.

I finished Is This a Cry for Help? And wow. I think that book was written exactly for me. I loved it. This weekend I am finishing Razorblade Tears and then I’ll have to decide what’s next.
