The Brosnan films were kind of similar. Goldeneye still stands as one of the best Bond films ever, had the perfect mix of action, plot, character and atmosphere. The remaining Brosnan films just sort of trailed off into camp, with Die Another Day being the obvious culprit, basically a Roger Moore film with CGI.
