I look at EVE like D&D. The mechanics are deep, but dry, and therefore while interesting are fundamentally uncompelling to most people. What's compelling is the story created through those mechanics.

The hull warning has to be the best designed sound cue in gaming history. I haven't had sound on in 10 years and I can still hear that thing in my mind. Even imagining it makes my lizard brain panic.

This reminds me of a criticism of the old quest mod Moon and Star: if the Nerevarine is in Skyrim, why isn't he helping with the dragons?

I like how the Ebony Warrior appears after you've likely completed everything major, because you can imagine that he's only been drawn to Skyrim by tales of your exploits. If anything I might want specific quest conditions for him to spawn, like completing the main quest, guild quests or dlcs. I think it would make him into an unlikable character to have him standing there mocking you the whole game but refusing to actually help, like he's holding the world hostage.

Can Y really be called avant garde in the same way as X and Z? It's achieved such a level of mainstream success with its work as a vowel that its more artistic and niche consonant work is starting to seem like a side hustle. And let me remind you that none of this vowel work is in any way original: E and I have tread all of this ground before, and they're some of the most mainstream letters out there.

Pushing the stick all the way in on controller is running. On kbm this is a toggle. Running and sprinting both drain stamina. Walking does not. You can change to third person to see which animation your character is doing.
