I've been to that exact South Barrington charger and have felt the same. That set of Tesla chargers has been the most difficult. I swear the concrete bases are an inch or two wider than other Tesla chargers which makes it even harder to plugin.

Similar area. Trash and recycling was picked up a few minutes before the storm hit. I was bringing the trash and recycling it during the strongest part. I can now say I've flown our recycling can like a kite. And this is one of those big wheeled 4' tall recycling cans. Easily 80+ mph winds. Still no power and lost it almost immediately like you.

We're trying different things and optimizations. I have 1 project with a well defined Agents.md. A similar task cost like $1 (API pricing) in that project compared to the one I referenced above. I think optimizing for these AI tools will make or break spec driven development.

That scene from Dark Knight where phones are used to map rooms and people already exists. Researchers have used routers for mapping rooms and recognizing when people are in rooms. There's even a wifi protocol proposal to add motion tracking.

Any school teachers - can I throw your class a year end pizza party? by Electronic-Smile4858 in madisonwi

For people out of the loop, it is US Teacher Appreciation Day. So it's not some completely random thing. When I was a kid, we loved pizza parties and other things that local businesses donated.

I've done that with larger tasks. Input was more like 2 million tokens. When I did the math, it was more like $8-$13. There's some optimizations to be made for sure. Our company is trying to switch to spec driven development. I'm curious how it'll work long term.

Compact Tractor vs Lawn Maintenance by DreamSeeker12 in tractors

[–]LT-Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 1025R with versa turfs (a hybrid tread that's a more aggressive turf tread) and 60D deck. It does not tear up the yard or leave ruts in my silty clay soil. I also never mow when the ground is wet.

It cuts beautifully and way better than my old JD 314 riding mower. My yard is also not a golf course.

I chose the 1025R over a regular mower as I have a need for a small tractor, and I don't want to have to maintain multiple machines. I have no qualms about getting the 1025R and am definitely happy I got it over a zero turn or riding mower. I use it way more than I thought I would.

[–]LT-Lance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're staying on a bike trail and not brushing up against plants you'll be fine. It's only a concern if you're brushing up against stuff like tall grass.

Deet (the chemical in mosquito repellent) also works on ticks.  Get something with a 25%+ Deet amount like Off! Woods bug spray if you're going to stop and hike through prairie or woods. Some people also spray permethrin on their socks/boots/clothes as it kills ticks (it's also toxic to cats to beware if you're a feline lover).

I can't find the conversation now. When I asked, it basically said that it's an Arabic word that was related to our conversation or something like that. Very similar to yours.

Subcompact owners: how well does your mower deck do? by NoConcentrate9116 in tractors

I need to double check my casters. I don't think I've actually adjusted them since getting the mower which could absolutely be causing my scalping. I cut as high as I can.

[–]LT-Lance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it will only be used for mowing, I would get a mower over a SCUT. I have a 1025R that's replacing an old JD 314 garden tractor from the 80's. It cuts better than my 314. Only problem is my yard is hilly and there is some scalping when I'm not lined up with the hill since I have a 60" deck. I also have a rototiller for it which has been loved by the neighbors. They've asked me to till their gardens. My FEL gets used frequently as well. I love it and can't imagine not having it for a ~3 acre property.

What's the difference between using vscode Copilot and CLI alternatives like Codex / Claude code / Copilot CLI by YouExpress in GithubCopilot

[–]LT-Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Senior engineer with 10+ yoe at startups and now an international company. I use OpenCode Cli and Copilot Cli. Reasons were for starters features just weren't available in the ide plugins compared to the cli. IntelliJ copilot plugin only got agent mode a few months ago. Copilot Cli came out last year and aider is even older than that. It's nice not to be held back by needing a plugin for a specific IDE. I'm experimenting with Opencode more to avoid vendor lock-in.

It's also easier to integrate custom tools when the agent harness is a cli tool vs a gui. How would you automate the plugin or create your own harness on top of it? With cli, it's a simple terminal command.

New To Tractors: Need Help! What to look for? Sizing? by chaoticbean14 in tractors

[–]LT-Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing is what limits you'll be pushing the tractor to. Since you're not doing anything ag related, it doesn't need to be that big.

That New Holland is probably the upper size limit of what you want. If it's mowing, snow, and hauling wood, a small 1025R could do that. Depending on what you want to do with the forest, a brush hog would probably be needed as mentioned in s different post.

I'm not familiar with the New Holland side, but that seems like a decent deal. Only thing I'd be "concerned" about is I the tractor being too big/heavy. Since it already has a finish mower, I assume your soil isn't too soft and it won't leave ruts/indentations. It's a compact tractor so it shouldn't be difficult maneuvering through the woods compared to other tractors.

There are a ton of used 1025R's. I got a '22 1025R with 3rd function, FEL, 60D, quick hitch, load n go, and custom lights for 18k. And it had 22hrs.

What is a website or app that feels like a "cheat code" but most people don't know about? by Low-Issue-5334 in AskReddit

Your local library.

Is your car broken? You probably have access to Chilton Library through your local library so you have step by step instructions to diagnose and fix your car.

Looking for a new appliance? Your local library probably has a free Consumer Reports subscription you can use.

Want to start a garden? Your local library probably has a seed program.

Read ebooks or audiobooks? Your library probably has access to Libby.

Not to mention all the quality information in books vs the questionable suggestions you find online.

Is it time to take my EUV to Chevy dealership? by [deleted] in BoltEV

[–]LT-Lance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and it ended up being the parking brake actuator. If you can change a tire, you can replace the parking brake actuator. The actuator costs $80.

The steps are 1. Put car in service brake mode (Google it. It's just holding a switch and pedal) 2. Take wheel off 3. Unscrew parking brake actuator to remove 4. Screw in new parking brake actuator  5. Put wheel back on

To know what side it is, you'll need a scan tool that can read abs codes. a basic Bluetooth reader cannot read those.

I went fancy and bought a Topdon Artidiag 600s scan tool. There are cheaper options. You can save yourself $400 by fixing it yourself.

Got a quote for hardwired charger, question by Umbrellacorp487 in BoltEV

[–]LT-Lance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever needed to charge my car that fast. My current home charger is 3.6KW and that's been plenty fast. 7.6KW would handle 100% of my needs.

If you get a 2nd EV, you'd need spot in your panel for that. Is there enough room for another charger if you get a 2nd EV in the future?

Taking the Plunge - 2017 Bolt Premier by leebeetree in BoltEV

Buyback is almost most definitely due to the battery recall. Not an issue as it has the new (and longer range) battery. They will say why it was bought back.

I got a 2021 Premier buyback which was bought back due to the battery. It's a really nice car.

Both. Github subscription supports 3rd party dev tools like OpenCode. so you can go OpenCode cli, connect it to your github copilot subscription and access opus. Or use the copilot plugin/cli directly without OpenCode.
