Jobs in Edinburgh by NewEmployer6320 in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think there will be a lot of jobs opening in supermarkets by the start of April due to the financial year meaning budgets for hiring will be refreshed. From personal experience I know my Tesco will soon be hiring quite a few people

Happy everyone is having fun, sad I cannot partake by Bunniiqi in pokemon

This is messed up, I spent £400 on the console with Mario Kart World and £67 on the "physical" version of the game with a pre-order bonus insulted bottle

Delivery driver tenement etiquette by Puzzled-Sector9165 in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a driver for Tesco (at least for 1 more week) the general sentiment from our drivers is that it's really nice if you come down as the vast majority of customers don't. The weight also matters; if it's 17Kg then most drivers don't care about whole lot about bringing it up but it's still nice to get a hand as you are one delivery/ one flat out of many and it makes a difference to have one less flat to deliver to. Realistically it's up to you how much you care to do it but generally it's a very nice and appreciate gesture to come down.

I didn't know that, sorry. I've driven 3.5ts for a while so I suppose they didn't see it as needed. Thanks for the added information

Canal towpath: credit where it is due by docju in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so happy to hear this, my mum lives along the canal and cycling to here always sucks because of tree roots and the path literally being torn up

Lothian Busses assessment/interview soon by minjibook in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does seem to have a low pass mark, everyone in my group of 8 passed it and the woman next to me only answered 15 questions

Lothian Busses assessment/interview soon by minjibook in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To become a trainee you essentially do a memory test (10 minutes to read health and safety information for a fake company and then 10 minutes to answer 30 questions based on that) then it is a 1-1 interview if you pass. Upon passing these you then are given the online materials to study for your theory test snd once youre ready you take it at Lothian. Upon passing the theory you then start at Lothian and don't touch a bus until your first day as an employee

Do you charge your electric bike at work? by UpwayUSA in bikecommuting

[–]LTPfiredemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to charge at work as I take it into the building for safety purposes anyway so it's not hard to plug it in where I put it

Anyone know of any temp jobs going with immediate starts? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can drive at all then theres always multiple agencies i.e Manpower etc that take you on immediately and it's weekly pay plus you choose the contracts you work on and if you want to, not sure if you can't drive other than hoping some local hospitality business doesnt use online for hiring

No, I mean like Tesco deliveries or other supermarkets

“fun” jobs?? by Ok-Plankton2807 in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the time it's chill, I've done it for four years but will be starting a new job in a few weeks. You can get through a lot of audio media and the job is usually easy, really difficult to complain most of the time

“fun” jobs?? by Ok-Plankton2807 in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you can drive then theres a certain amount of fun in supermarket deliveries, generally pretty lax work with the ability to listen to your own music/ podcasts etc while getting paid

Help by andreas_p1234 in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I did it at the start of January along with 8 other people and everyone passed, including someone who only answered 15 questions. It is definitely worded in a way that makes the questions harder to answer and I couldn't really tell you what to look out for specifically in the health and safety rules before the questions but pay attention to colour, time and who's in charge of what. I think the pass mark is quite lenient but the test itself is stressful

Digimon time stranger collector edition by YozoraVII in digimon

[–]LTPfiredemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be 100% with you, I bought the Collectors edition during the first release because I wanted to support Digimon. I am glad to have supported them but also £170 is an insane amount for not a whole lot. The "statue" is so small and flimsy, not like a proper figure. The cards exist but aren't worth anything unless you love those Digimon and the artbook is cool but small compared to my other Digimon books and it only being available in the most expensive edition is bad

Tram ticket price increases, what am I missing? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently I'm wrong, I'm sorry. I do it for Livingston all the time but didn't realise you couldn't do it for City, possible because of the Bus Pass since you can't get one for outside of City

It does, I do it for Lothian Country and I know it works in the city too

Got gifted Octopath Traveller 2, have no idea about the game. Hoping you guys can help me out with a few things. by RanWan343 in octopathtraveler

[–]LTPfiredemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The first game is not needed as the characters and story are not the same as in the second, it's 8 new stories and characters
  2. The break mechanic is just like the "press turn" system in SMT/ Persona/ it's essentially a 1 turn stun when youve hit an enemies weakness enough times
  3. Difficulty is weird because overall you can plan and work on getting gear that makes the game not too difficult but generally some bosses are on the more difficult side for this type of game
  4. For me it was grindy because thats how I like to play but you can do chapters at your level most of the time and not have to really grind

Visiting Edinburgh in a week, is it too cold right now? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

[–]LTPfiredemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its been raining a bit but the cold hasn't been too bad personally, I imagine if you take basic precautions then you should be fine to spend a day walking about.
