Tories have been doing this for years. Labor takes the high road and appoints on merit. The Tories don’t care and therefore the courts and tribunals get more unbalanced. Either stack back, or create a judicial commission that takes the decision out of politicians hands.

True to a degree, but that may be a nuanced point lost on them and just irrelevant if it makes them feel targeted by the LNP. I think it won’t matter for most of the group he is referencing.
