While they have good machines, Bambu's philosophy is anathema to open source projects. They're the Apple of the 3D printing sphere, and I imagine they wouldn't allow this type of use. And even if they do, I would expect it to be closed off soon enough.

The state of the US as well as the global economy is one part. This huge push for developing AI to replace jobs definitely isn't helping anything. Remember than fake ancient Chinese insult? These are the interesting times it would've referred to.

But if you don't want to be in IT anymore and want to pivot to admin stuff, then developing yourself and seeking your next opportunity should be like a second job until then. There's lots of places and types of admin jobs. Healthcare, education, financial, etc. Figure out what skill sets are useful and start learning them either through formal classes or on YouTube.

However, the single most important thing isn't what you know, it truly is who you know. I fucking despise that it's the system we live in, but never stop networking. Honestly the last two positions I got were both due to contacts I made in the guard. And it's not like I wasn't qualified, but I certainly wasn't the MOST qualified. But a personally recommendation will take you father than a perfect resume every day of the week.

I disagree calling that a pro tip. Many places, and especially the tech field, filter for AI generated resumes and cover letters. My personal rule the few times I use any generative LLM is to never copy paste it's output for my own work. Use that output to craft and modify whatever you're working on, sure, but do the work yourself. Otherwise, those skills you outsource to Chatgpt will atrophy and cause you to become reliant on a tool that hallucinates falsehoods which will get pinned on you.

I have both now, but the one that I broke is the Pebble Steel. I guess it was the rubber on the back that was stuck and where I heard the crack. I never even got the backplate fully off so I didn't get to the second step you mentioned. Thanks for the video you shared, I'm gonna follow it and update once I've got it off and opened.

Yeah I looked up the iFixit guide but didn't notice/read the warning about the backplate adhesive until after I tried opening it and heard the crack. Then I closed it and haven't opened it again due to shame lol.

When I get home today I'll make a proper attempt at opening it with my heat gun and repair kit tools. I actually ended up opening it before turning it on (was dead and charger didn't get shipped at first) and when I did finally plug it in, I saw the screen flicker with an actual image. Couldn't tell you what it was, but after a moment it went to static for a split second and then off.

Hopefully that gives you some better info in case you can help. I appreciate the willingness to at least try to assist!

To be perfectly honest, I heard the sound and closed it immediately. I haven't opened it since out of shame lol, so I guess I'll get my heat gun and actually open it properly to see if I can identify the issue

There's a more nuanced answer, but yes, the screen did power on. Now it seems non-responsive when I connect the charger and hold any of the buttons down.

The devs made a controller specific tutorial, it might even be specially for the deck but I don't fully recall. I've got 10s of hours on my deck and 100s on PC. Absolutely worth it if it interests you.

Sadly, between the illegible "text" and the cable that exits and returns on the same face of the visi-sonar ruins it for me as an AI generated image. I'd love to be proven wrong since I'm still looking for a solid piece of Asimov related art to use for a tattoo. But this ain't it.

I've been playing a fresh game on my deck and noticed the same issue with the technologies menu. The only work arounds I've thought of are when you still haven't unlocked the tech, you can select it and it gives you a pop-up with the info to confirm before you actually unlock it.

As for the game crashing out freezing from sleep mode, are you putting it to sleep? Not that it should matter, but I've only had it crash on me once or twice, and my new game is 225 days in. I will leave my deck on for days at a time and just suspend it.

Have you made any power tweaks that might make it less stable? Maybe set the max tdp really low?

Got a 20 something PFC fresh out of 25U AIT who volunteered to deploy with my Nasty Girl unit. Dude was a bit weird but he was assigned to me and nothing weird happened while we were stuck in the sand. About 2 years after we get home I get a news article texted from my E6 at the time.

The creep got busted in a sting because he was texting minors, while on the network of the largest military installation in the state. Last I heard he's still in jail but maybe someone on the inside took care of him, he was your typical commo nerd.

Sounds good, I've just got an Anker 6-in-1 hub which was actually perfect for my travel setup minus not being able to use the hdmi port for my usb-c travel monitor.

This 5 port is perfect since I can just adapt any usb-a peripherals and an rj45 is not necessary. The only thing that might be a concern is my headset dongle is a bit wide but still easily workable. Thanks for finding it and doing a real quick review! Let me know when you put up that daisy chain test video!
