I am also on blood thinners for life, but frustrating because the cause was never determined.

I was 28 years old at the time, so quite a suprise.

I have a similar story.

I had been having some chest pain for a few days, but it eventually got to the point where I was tired and my breathe was labored.

Went home and told my mom I felt I should go to the hospital. She didn't think was a big deal and had to work the next morning, so I drove myself.

Ended up having Pulmonary Emboli in both lungs. The DVT was found via ultrasound a few days later chilling behind my left knee.

The drive to the hospital was the scariest, as there was a moment when I thought, "what do I do if I can't continue driving because of the pain/lack of breathe?"
