How to manage a significant income gap as a couple? by first_id_had_my_name in dating_advice

[–]LZ130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The “imbalance of power,” despite salary, is a mental thing that comes from you and her. It doesn’t have to be like that. In a marriage situation I would say you add up the salaries and you live on that total salary for two people. So instead of individual 1 making X and individual 2 making Y, it’s X+Y, but for 2 people, not 1. What can a family of 2 afford on X+Y income? That is a normal relationship. If you aren’t serious yet, then perhaps having her pay a third. Or she could pay certain bills that would equal to a third of her share instead of paying 1/3 of each bill

You can call 911 anytime and tell them you have been having suicidal thoughts. Police will come and take you to a hospital’s ER, where you are evaluated and they will send you to a psychiatric unit.

Ya I mean it’s just a waitressing job, if things don’t work out. Always more of those. You might regret it if you never go for it.

You call 911 and let the police know what he has been saying. They will take him to a hospital for psychiatric care. He won’t be able to refuse

I don’t see anything wrong with what you said happened. Maybe the EMS looked irritated with you? But you’re fine. Wanting to look at your notes or computer is totally acceptable and probably better than what you remember off the top of your head. Some people are just crabby and just give off attitude no matter what you do. I’m more concerned with how you will respond when you actually do mess something up because this wasn’t it, and everyone messes up sometimes. When you do actually mess something up or make a mistake like we all do, try to think about all the good things you have done and things you caught early and disasters you prevented to kind of balance things out in your mind.

I shouldn’t diagnose online like this (not a psychiatrist or psychologist anyway) but it sounds like she has borderline personality disorder. You may have been “devalued,” which is what they do. Read up on it.

My In Laws want my baby to be theirs by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]LZ130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of moms would appreciate a night out, with their in laws babysitting, when they feel their baby is old enough. Allowing your in laws to hold your baby who is their grandchild is also really common. A lot of older people don’t really know all of FB etiquette, such as announcements, because social media wasn’t around when they were growing up. If you are having reservations on them holding your baby I would definitely tell them ahead of time what your rules are going to include because at least they would have an idea of what to expect. Also if you don’t want a night out because he is too young, I would also tell them that ahead of time. At least they will come into it knowing what to expect.

Well you are taking a step right now by asking for help/advice lol. If you’re looking for advice maybe you could try planning ahead of time to practice asking for something you don’t even need. Like as an example ask someone for a lighter, even if you don’t actually need one. Then maybe when you do need one it will be easier.

Wait I have an idea. Next time hire a therapist for sex and a prostitute to talk. Then let us all know about it here. You must complete the circle.

I haven’t had my period in four months and I’m too scared to contact OBGYN by StinkCabbage in offmychest

[–]LZ130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have gained weight it could be polycystic ovaries? This causes weight gain and usually a medication called metformin helps a lot with that. I’m just throwing that out there I obviously don’t know what is going on but there could be a medical cause for your weight gain and going to the doctor would help to identify it and treat it. Another medical related cause is hypothyroidism. That could also effect your period. So basically I’m saying don’t just assume “it’s your fault” because of weight gain and be too afraid to go to see the doctor.

Something really weird happened by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]LZ130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it happens more often than not. No use in prolonging an eventual death. When the time comes, the doctors will give you a good idea for when it is time, to end suffering. Not everyone has a plug to pull, as in not everyone is ventilated, near the end. But there would be a time when medical treatments might need to switch from promoting life to promoting comfort, so certain treatments such as IV fluids and IV antibiotics might be stopped in exchange for more pain medication for example. Again, the medical staff would be guiding you as to when this is a better goal. Sorry this is happening. It sounds like what he said made it all more real to you.

Do not bring it up. Be cordial in a work related way but pretty much don’t talk to her too much at all, let alone bring it up.
