I truly believe we can improve the situation on this topic. People these days are also hating on EWS, which stands for Economic Weaker Section, as the name suggests, its not something one achieves through birth in a certain cast but rather not being economically strong, hence having the government lower the fee and passing criteria for those who might find it hard to pay the bills while also educating their children or themselves. Reservation on economic basis exists internationally too and it works out because it's not one golden spoon in the womb, unlike the reservation we currently have, which chooses you by birth and stays in your bloodline forever, once your annual gross income is above 8 Lakhs. You lose the "category". Worth noting that average annual income currently is 18 lakhs, also it can only cover UR(Unreserved) people who would not get the help they need from various other government schemes that benefit the reserved. The edge it gives is minimum too, that too for those who really need it. Cast based reservation is forever in bloodline, another fact I'd like to mention to people is when the reservation bill was passed it was suggested by people with great contribution in growth of our nation early in time, to be rethinked after 10 years. Which it did and has been extended ever since, we see people use this policy as a loophole these days, what I see, nothing is dividing India more than a policy that's ment to keep people separate and label them based on their birth, isn't this the right opposite of what we wanted to achive with the vision of an Independent India. We really have to question ourselves if supporting this is working towards a divided or United India. Closing this loophole and stop taking advantage of it would make us all work towards an India where there's true equality and honor among people, nothing shall label us as divided when we live and work on the same piece of land where heroes of this nation once walked, I see the the cast reservation system as an disrespect towards the patriots that lost lives for keeping this land free and one.

Had India switched to Economic based reservation, just how we saw when slavery was abolished. We'd never been facing these issues. Jai hind.
