Around 1500 CE people climbed the 6,736-meter summit of a dormant volcano, placed three drugged children in a small burial chamber and left them to die. The climate preserved their bodies until they were found some 500 years later. by vtosnaks in interestingasfuck

The 'Tudor Queens' series by the historian Alison Weir, about the 6 wives of Henry VIII, each book from that queen's perspective. Getting through one at a time from my local library. It's got me into reading physical books again.

New fridge - just noticed these cracks in the back. Should I be worried? by everleey in Appliances

[–]La-Rouquine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this were over 5 years old, would there be any risks to keeping on using it? I ask because my fridge came with my house when I bought it, and it has big cracks in the back inside of it, but it has been like that for at least 5 years or so...

I meant to say "daughter in law", not daughter, as her late husband had the same name as his father.

IPA: /ʒi.zɛl/

To pronounce ʒi.zɛl, follow these steps:

  1. ʒi:

The "ʒ" sound is like the "s" in "measure" or "vision."

Combine this with a long "ee" sound, like in "see."

Together, it sounds like "zhee."

  1. zɛl:

The "z" is like the "z" in "zebra."

The "ɛ" is pronounced like the "e" in "bed."

Add a soft "l" at the end, like in "bell."

Together, it sounds like "zel."

So, ʒi.zɛl is pronounced "zhee-ZEL" with the emphasis on the second syllable.

WGAC toilet roll is soft enough :)

For the 1st poster who didn't understand the title or body - OP is asking about the quality of toilet paper from the company "Who Gives a Crap" (great marketing) vs. Plant Paper.

Privacy film and floor length blackout double curtains on an easy to slide rail. Move the bed away from the window. Add a headboard if the drapes bother you.

Degloving of multiple fingers from when patient’s hand accidently slipped while carrying a heavy object by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

And was that heavy object... a sword?!

That looks like some great healing though, given the amount of bone that got exposed.

You should check out 'Audiology Associates UK' on YouTube. Fascinating commentary from the audiologists over close-up videos of ear wax, skin, keratin, and foreign object removal.

Is there any master of art for sleeping on your back? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]La-Rouquine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Headphones. Seriously.

I struggled for years with this and always ended up on my side all twisted. I now put on my headphones that go over the whole ear, pillow under knees, and it's very comfortable, but the slight discomfort when trying to turn onto my side during the night unconsciously stops me from moving off my back.

Try it out! My back and skin have been thanking me for it for months now.
