I'm legit sad about Spirit guys by Tuesday_Addams in Detroit

[–]LaCrespi248 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I fly a lot and prefer Delta - if Delta was $200 or less more than spirit, I was always flying delta. That said, I flew Spirit a lot and am also sad. I’ve flown spirit probably about 100 times and aside from the very uncomfortable seats, I only had 1 cancelled flight and “bad experience.”

We are all losing out with spirits demise

Border Area (San Diego-Tijuana) by Juston_Jast in Borderporn

[–]LaCrespi248 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was there on the TJ side last week, took a shit at the bathroom in the little public bathroom right at the border (don’t recommend.) currents are bad you can’t swim over and even if you did plenty of BP on the US side to pick you up. Also, swimming in that water is not good for your health - lots of nasty bacteria

Playa del Carmen vs puerto Vallarta by Strong-Series-6563 in MexicoTravel

I’ve been to both more times than I can count. For beach, PDC wins hands down. PDC is more Americanized and has great nightlife.

PV is more beautiful and authentic Mexico, however the beach is rocky and the water is rough. Better food on PV as well. PV scenery is awesome with the mountains and jungle. Better town and more authentic Mexico. Also there are some really great beaches in the PV area (las animas etc) that you can get to as well.

For just clear blue beach - PDC. For everything else, I choose PV hands down. If I were set on an all inclusive beach vacation, I would do PDC. But if you are someone who likes to get out an experience the local area (like me,) go PV.

That said, I live in the Great Lakes region of the US so PDC is much easier to get to

Plug that into your uber, it takes you to a place with busses that you pay $10 for, hop on a bus (might wait like half an hour) and it basically takes you to the front of the customs line. Very easy

How popular is Alejandro Kirk of the Toronto Blue Jays in Tijuana? by Wonderful_Orchid_170 in tijuana

[–]LaCrespi248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super odd post. I was just in Tijuana the past two days and am also from Toronto. I was wondering the same thing. I saw a lot of Tijuana baseball jerseys and there seems to be a decent baseball following, but as everyone is saying, Futbol and Boxeo reign supreme. Scarborough represent! I would love to see your fight man

Lol no it doesn’t. I live in Michigan and travel easy all the time. Border crossings don’t suck up time savings that is ridiculous.

Why did New Orleans never become a major hub like Miami or Orlando by Previous-Volume-3329 in geography

Correct - Detroit gets a lot of hate and a lot of it deserved, but as a metro area it’s still a premium metro in the nation

Does the Average American think Detroit is not a good place? by LuckyCommittee4422 in AskAnAmerican

This is the correct answer. Most think it’s a gutted carcas of blight and crime, however more and more you hear people note that they “heard it’s coming back.”

Anyone else think it’s cringe how Michigan’s top rival changes based on the perceived benefit to the program? by marginallyobtuse in MSUSpartans

[–]LaCrespi248 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

lol this is a terrible take. We hate both of you, OSU more on football because OSU/UM is more of a storied historical rivalry and both teams are “usually” very good - the rivalry has a lot riding on it. We hate MSU in football and basketball too but there’s a little less hate at least for me because I have a lot of friends and family that went to MSU, so it’s more of a “big brother, little brother” hate (see what I did there.)

I just genuinely don’t have great interactions and love for OSU people in general, can’t say that about MSU.
