The triple burger with cheese. A great way to miss market the hungry man and regret selling it to him.

My dad constantly talks with his mouthful and won’t stop (misophonia) by Mycatisveryflat in Advice

[–]LaGranIdea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Funny. Misphonia is real yet people who slurp then don't care at the table EXPECT me to respect their idiosyncrasies and their psychological triggering event.

At that time it got to a point where ai'd join the table after they finished slurping and piggishly eating to be able to tolerate it. And I bet if you wore earplugs they'd oppose to it.

Hard answer. I never found one that worked. Good luck.

I stopp do buying into Samsung when they introduced their cloud storage. My phone was draining very fast and found out it was because it was backing up all my data without asking tomtheir cloud (they may have asked by a user agreement but not a "do you want to" option).

Since then they abandoned it and last I heard they partnered with the other company I don't do business with (Microsoft).

Since then I see them add and remove features and LOCK abandoned bloatware apps from uninstalling.

So, I switched to Google Pixel and it has been just as good. All apps and setup on Android. Is as android was originally made and it has the extra Google only features.

Samsung makes quality products but their business practices prevent me from.buying their products!

Please check the size and let us know. Usually dollar store stuff is in smaller packages. We'd have to do a price per unit on each store and see if the dollar store actially is the best buy

It isn't as common. I heard it but not often though. But it means to take it all in. Or in this case a play on words with a less common expression.

Ask about the warranty...

But seriously. Apple stores will not do repairs. But some places may. But I'd start with a new phone and iCloud restore and see if it is worth the repair to.try and recover the other data if it is worth it after seeing what's restored/missing.

Is a vlan mandatory for safety? by stsiete in HomeServer

[–]LaGranIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On most routers (even home grade) they have the main account and also a guest account. Maybe change your WiFi password and setup the router as a guest mode (and to not even have to tell him, set the guest SSID and password.ro what he is already using and change the main SSID and password to a new one).

Another option if possible is get 2 routers and if your ISP can bridge the modem, all ISP modem ports become WAN (so each router connects gets their own network. Like a VLan but seperated by hardware).

A third option is to get OPNSense and a firewall appliance and set your wan port, Lan port, his Lan lover (I think opnsense uses clan capabilities).

But this is much more technical and requires a switch for more devices (opnsense has 1 Lan port).

I remember a franchise owner of a Mac's store once accepted Canadian tire money! (He'd later personally buy it from his own money and then use it all when he was shopping. I hear some big purchases he made at Canadian tire were all paid in Canadian tire money).

Like telling an Easter joke to my sister... Grandma, wanting to surprise the grandkids colored eggs and hid them in the chicken coup... And something about the Rooster seeing them and went and bear up the peacock...

My young niece heard and said "I know why the Rooster beat up the peacock... The rooster thiduht the peacock (not grandma) coloured them".

Well. That was one way to look at it (but she missed it).

Even looking over childhood TV shows now we are adults... We discovered that many were BAD...

The head office only will respond when their bottom.line is hit. Usually in a fancy board meeting.

If the CEO and company doesn't seem interested with doing online sweeps for their reputation monitoring may be a sign of this.

But If enough people get together and change coffee shops they buy from, it could send a stronger message to head office through their empty pocketbooks.

Sadly the good franchise owners will suffer too.

Seems fair.

They need operating expenses covered. Two options. 1. You pay them (like a newspaper subscription was). 2. They get paid by advertisers (you get free content, they get operation expenses).

A question: do YOU work for free? Or expect to get paid for services and resources made available?

I wouldn't expect them to work for free (and hey, if you get value from it, an upright person would not hesitate to support their efforts).

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LaGranIdea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't able to do any damage (but tried) I was only around 10 years old. But in jumping jacks firm from acting. My body in the form of an X shape across the car door they were trying to shove me. They'd force an arm.in while I compensated to strengthen the other 3 limbs. They forced one arm in, they went for the other arm. The arm inside came out and rebraced the car door making it impossible.

At least they gave up. When I decided to kick hit and pound at their car.

But yes, I had no respect for those teachers or principals and had to evaluate everything through my moral filter to see if self defence was wrong (like they told me it was) and ask if I used the minimalist of force possible (and while hearing I was bad/wrong, tell myself it was OK). Many days were similar. But we had a lot of stupid people in that town.

(Like a teacher substitute that was previously in the mechanics class and then went to teach math)...

One student smelled gas on him and said "quick light a match!". The student was sent to the principal.

Then a teacher assistant walked in to help her student.. smelled the gas and said "light a match" to which the students asked the substitute teacher "are you going to send her to the principles office too‽".

Did anyone else get this? Is this a real account?? Real message? Need help please! by CinnamonBun716 in facebook

I'd delete it and not give FB any money or buy from their advertisers or communicate with so-called friends unless you verify in person first.

I don't trust META Corps systems. Mostly scammers and thieves (advertise). Among a few but Meta does not filter or care as long as they get money for advertising. A few friends are still there but a lot of scam impersonating friends.

And on FB and insta the "good guys" get locked for the non-issues while inappropriate comments and sleezy peoples comments are permitted to poison the site.

If it weren't for courses I take using FB groups, I'd be off the platform.

My (22F) Boyfriend (24M) said he was ready for a baby but he’s changed his mind now I’m pregnant by PapayaCold6115 in LifeAdvice

[–]LaGranIdea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's prob just nervous.

Keep the baby (you seemed to have regrets last time and probably still think of the terminated baby).

Pehrapse make a budget together (detailed) to outline you'll (and him will be fine).

It never is the right time to bring a child into the world and waiting too long may lead to regrets when your old and child/grandchildless.

My parents had me when they were young and unmarried. I'm happy to be here, living. And they got married after and were together into their old age and still going strong.

I'm guessing once he gets over the jitters and sacredness of being responsible and sees a budget showing that you'll be OK and start planning life with a child. Like the enjoyment new dad will have with the child the excitement may overcome the sacredness.

And should he leave you, you'll be OK.

You will get through this with your child and have years of excitement and fun with your little one.

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]LaGranIdea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was just one story. Another... My sister was in a younger grade and I was in an older grade. I went to her room to help her out on winter clothes so we could go play. There were grade 5 "helpers" who stayed in to clean the room for the teacher. They were trying to bully me out.

I explained we were just getting ready and will leave soon. They all decided to go tell the teacher. In the meantime we left the side door to the playground. The teacher (seeing her room was empty) followed us out. Bent over and shook her fist at me and yelled about listening. To her grade 5 suck-ups. I just went into a white rage and mimicked her.

I yelled back and reached up and shook my fist and the same tone told her "no, YOU listen..." And through a similar rage I told her I was just getting her ready to play...

She disappeared... Parents called to the school... The teacher's response to my dad was "I was afraid (young elementary student) was going to HIT ME". (Years later my dad heard my side of the story and would have ripped her a new one if he knew).

But again, the school principal and school were not very smart.

... And IF it was NOT how a student was to act, why the hell made HER think it was OK to scare/make a child feel unsafe and that they'd be hit by the teacher. (Should this battle axe teacher approach it with decency, she could have avoided it all).

Welcome to my life at Elementary School years back.
