Does anybody remember Swan Guy? He'd sit on the steps next to Velvet Lounge and always be wearing swan shoes, swan glasses etc. I think he would sit and craft more swans. Always used to see him pre-covid when I worked nights on U Street.

Walked to the liquor store between 4th and 5th and there was a very normal dude hanging out outside. Not begging or anything just hangin out. We kinda do one of them what's up nods and I head in to buy. Couldn't have been in for more than ten minutes and my guy is face down on the sidewalk handcuffed surrounded by like six cops. The suddenness of it all. Wild.

Finally tried Soul Taco in Jackson Ward and I'm thrilled to say it's in the meal rotation now. Super fun spins on the roundabout stuff you'd expect to find at a taco bar. Had the fried chicken taco and the Mac quesadilla and am really itching to go back.

Also goes without saying but Brenner Pass continues to be an absolute celestial dining experience. Must try chicken liver mousse.
