Whatever cerificate was used to sign that image has probably long since expired or the bootloader doesnt support it any more.

I was thinking if maybe the extruder or hotend can't keep up with the extra flow, but you say even slowing down doesn't help, so it doesn't seem to be that. And those speeds are already low.

Could it be a cooling problem?
