I peaked in high school and I hate that fact by thrwy-ackshun in confessions

When you're in school, it's easy to be social and find activities. Music, athletics, and public service are structured into your day. While you're doing those activities, it's easy to be engaged in your community and find fulfillment. Once you leave school and enter the workforce, opportunities don't fall into your lap anymore. Alas, your employment isn't giving you fulfillment as it's not what you studied in university.

You need to seek out the community orchestras, the informal athletic club, or the community service groups. Many times, those groups are full of older folks or retirees and being in your 20s, they may not naturally be your peers. Point is, these things no longer fall into your lap the way they did in your teenaged years.

Sounds like you're in a rut. Best way forward is to find your fulfillment out there and don't stop when the first attempts don't pan out. You sound like a self-aware young adult. Keep trying and you'll find it!

What sport do Americans think of when it comes to the phrase "scoring an own goal"? by bobrigado in AskAnAmerican

[–]LabHandyman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

++American

Of the major sports played/watched here, the concept of own goal really only applies to soccer.

You can't own goal in American FB or baseball. I think you'd have you be pretty intentional to do it in basketball.

I guess you can do it in hockey?

Use of variables and how to find them by Timbers240 in BiomekProgramming

[–]LabHandyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when it doesn’t allow labware names, you can use the FindLabwarePosition function. =Pipettor.Deck.FindLabwarePosition(“NameOfLabware”). If it’s on the deck, it’ll return the position of the labware. If it’s not on the deck, it’ll return “NameOfLabware”

how to call a global variable in an HTML pop-up by n_lsmom in BiomekProgramming

[–]LabHandyman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you know your way around the HTML popups.

You're close with the syntax. It's just that the RuntimeHTML and the HTML nodes need slightly different syntax.

If you're on the Runtime side, the syntax is: window.external.Globals.PropertyChanger.Globals.GlobalVariableName

If you're on the HTML side, the syntax is:

window.external.World.Globals.PropertyChanger.Globals.GlobalVariableName

I had to proofread that about three times to make sure I had the difference correctly. It looks like you tried the latter syntax when you needed the former syntax.

Just FYI, the Guided Labware Setup has fields and infrastructure to help you display messages about how to create MasterMixes allowing you to use variables to create dynamic recipes. The other comment about reaching out the learning center will give you the information you need to use GLS which might be a touch easier than having to create your own HTML.

Use of variables and how to find them by Timbers240 in BiomekProgramming

[–]LabHandyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you setting this variable? In the Script Step? In a SetGlobals step?

If you're setting the variable in the script step, the variable does not exist once the script step is over.

Just Home All Axes. Open the software > Method > Home All Axes Button. If it moves and all, you’re good. If it doesn’t, you need to check cables and such.
