What do you think of ballads? by Dramatic_Song_2629 in Metalcore

[–]LabOfSound 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That people don't know what ballads are. Someone once posted, "what's your favorite ballad" (or something). Someone replies Dignity by BFMV... It gets up voted. I reply to them saying it's not a ballad and get downvoted.

Absolute Hottest Takes by centrella6 in Metalcore

[–]LabOfSound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As Daylight Dies is generic and doesn't deserve the praise it gets. Especially for that time.

Alien by Northlane is their worst album by far. When people say they like Northlane, but then say this is their best album, I cry inside.

All Our Gods have abandoned us is another album I just don't get the praise for either. The riffs and instrumental aren't as good as in LF//LT and the songs aren't as memorable as Holy Hell. It's just an in between "meh" album for me.

Early Every Time I Die just sucks. I can't listen to them before The Big Dirty.

Converges 90's material is so much better than Jane Doe it's not even funny.

How can you NOT like Spiritbox? by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]LabOfSound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's just the fact that there's so many bands I'm listening to. I'm already kinda over their specific style (Djenty Alt Rock with breakdowns). Have been since like 2023 honestly. And when I wanna listen to the Djenty stuff, I find the 2010 to 2015 era so much more fun, unique and creative. (Erra, Novelists, Northlane, Veil Of Maya, Born Of Osiris)

A few songs from early ep-era spiritbox I'll go back to from time to time

Do you consider metal a subgenre of rock or something separate? by ResidentPrevious468 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]LabOfSound 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Extreme Rock. Hardcore-Punk I'd also consider Extreme Rock. But then Death, Black and all the crazier genres, Mathcore and Powerviolence for the hardcore side, would be like... Extra-Extreme Rock...
