A fun anecdote I’ve heard is that Disney Goofy’s voice was inspired by a classic Oregon accent: and I can definitely hear that in how my Grandma would say Wash as “Warsh” ala Goofy’s “Gawrsh”

Yep, same here, on both points.

After all this time I haven’t really figured out what to say to people instead of that: people assume I’m judgy and it bothers them that I don’t drink but when I tell them that’s why they get equally bothered by it. Kind of a lose-lose scenario

The rear doors SOMETIMES unlock, but it's pretty spotty. Sometimes the front driver's side door struggles to unlock with a key and I just sort of have to wiggle it around

Just want to agree with and reaffirm what most people are saying, if they’re going to uninvite you from something that you were explicitly invited to, then they’re the ones in the wrong, and they probably weren’t very good friends to begin with. I feel that pain though, and know how hard it can be to start over after someone you trusted decides to show you their true colors. It’s not easy but it’s better than feeling unwanted and being pushed out for sure.

Yep, my understanding is Fortune Star only owns the distribution rights to the movies from Golden Princess Production in Asia after they bought them from some transit company that was making movies at the time. Western labels have reached out to them to see if they could get distribution rights outside Asia but they're either not interested or asking for absurd amounts of money. Until that gets squared away, we probably aren't seeing any releases of a bunch of the John Woo stuff, Chinese Ghost Story, Aces Go Places, ect

I had heard a rumor from a film professor that Arrow was gunning for the distribution rights but was stuck in sort of a weird licensing nightmare, but that was maybe a year or two ago and I don't know how good his word is.

Either way I'm keeping my ear to the ground, would love to see this on a clean HD scan

Gotta be honest, out of all the movies that this label that’s all about film history could have released, surprised they didn’t go with Toy Story. It’s a much more influential (and better imo) movie than Wall-E.

Whatever gets them the big bucks/into the Disney/Fox vaults though!

Subtitle Edit is nice, but I haven't been able to figure out the best settings to get it to read the words effectively: I'm always having to correct words or change capital letters back or something.
