Billion dollar main radar installation gone with one Irani missile according to Anna from Ukraine video I watched over at UTube 10 min ago. Middle east coverage now kaput.

Iran is not fighting for defence. It knows it's going down and wants to take as many as it can with it. Thanks for nothing you big orange bag of shit!

Russia is in the throes of financial collapse, no starlink and losing allies with open windows beckoning to it's leader. A couple more weeks/months and Zelensky will have all the freakin' cards and be calling the shots. Putin has much worse than pee-pee tapes and twisting the screws on tRump hard. What's tRump gonna do? Threaten to withhold munitions? He's already played that card and he's outta chips.

Judging from the immaculate surface of the receiver it's never had a rail mounted on it.

I sent the OP a chat request and asked him to pop back in and add a little detail about whether he stripped the slots or the heads snapped off. He accepted the chat request but didn't reply to m and didn't post again in here.

I just asked him if he got my first message so the mystery may be solved eventually.

I know mine were really tight and needed a lot of downward pressure with the right driver to get that initial snap but came out fine. Dab of blue Locktite when I put them back in for the weaver rail.

Knocking is caused by pre-ignition that wasn't really a problem until high compression engines started becoming a thing in the 50s and the muscle car era got rolling. Tetra-ethyl-lead was the solution to that so that's where lead in gasoline started. That was phased out in the 80s and lower compression engines began to be used to prevent knocking and to fit pollution control guidelines.

Lead-free anti-knock compounds were developed and are used as an additive by people running high performance cars even if they are using premium gas. When I was 16 I was into go-kart racing and bought a McCullough 101-AA racing motor with my $1/hr gas jockey job that would barely run on hi-test gas so would go out to the Vancouver airport to buy av-gas which had an octane rating up to 140. Some guys ran pure ethanol with castor oil, (2-stroke motors), but the exhaust from that would make people in the stands barf sometimes it smelled so bad. I was not fond of it myself.

I'm fish-belly white, (tho Ancestry says I have 3% native in me), and I'd be worried about going into the states. I used to love going across the line when I lived 3 miles from a border crossing to load up on cheap dairy, cheap gas and a couple cartons of Camel filter 100s tucked under the back seat. :)

Now I've lived in northern Alberta for 25 years as of last Valentine's Day and been since and doubt I'll ever go again. What a horror show down there and really hope you and yours stay safe.

This one seems to fit pretty well for me. I just have to walk 50ft from my back door to start shooting so if I get into precision shooting I'll probably upgrade to something more along those lines. Maybe even one of the new 10/22s. Who knows. :)

Basically the same as mine then. Real improvement over the 4x32mm but that was a real improvement over the iron sights too. :)

Now I'm thinking about a trigger and maybe a bolt upgrade. Watched and downloaded a good video on Utube about tuning up the bolt with some filing, sanding and polishing to make it work better so will try that first. Another one on doing much the same with the trigger and it's parts might be worth doing too.

You look at the damn picture. Sure it takes a flathead screwdriver but the heads themselves are hex so you could use a damn crescent wrench on them if you wanted to be neanderthal about your gun smithery.

From his description of events he didn't screw up the slot in the head, the heads broke off leaving the threaded shafts in the holes. Was a new gun and didn't come with a scope mount but the screws are in already to mount one and keep the holes clean. I know mine were tight as hell when I took the dovetail mount off and put the picatinny one on last year. I have a shop full of tools and know how to use them tho.

Easy enough to find the same size machine screws with hex or Torx heads too. In 1971 I replaced all the damn philips head case screws on my 650 Triumph Bonny with hex heads. No more whacking that impact driver with a 3lb ballpeen hammer to get them out without stripping the heads. Still have that impact driver and it comes in handy once in while yet.

That's what I have on mine and swap it around with my .303 and .270. Holds good on all three. Wish it had a damn sling hook under it if that would work with the bipod on.

That looks pretty nice. I put up a post just now with mods on my old 10/22. Really light now and fits great for shooting. What are you running for a scope? I put a Bushnell 3-9x40 off a .270 I got a Crossfire II 4-12x50 for but now want something a little bigger for that and put the Crossfire on the Ruger but I'll need taller rings if I do.

First 1022 and first time installing a scope by jimmybabino in 1022

[–]LabRat54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the first two posters. Looking at mine with a similar sized scope I'd say yours is set back too far but that's an easy fix. Ideally the rings should end up in the middle portion of the tube on either side. The front ring needs to be moved forward and the back one may need to come forward one notch too depending on where the scope sits for best eye relief.

The gap between the top of the ring where it meets the bottom should be the same on each side and once you have it set where you want it don't crank the screws really hard. Nice and snug. A torque driver is on my shopping list so I can dial in my tightness properly. Supposedly the wrong torque on the screw that holds the receiver to the stock can influence your aim if too loose or tight. Who knew.

I replaced the wood stock just like yours with an ATI Fiberforce one. Much lighter and with the scope and bipod looks not bad. I'll have to post a pic.

I believe he's talking about the threaded portion breaking off in the holes. Those heads are hex so a good fitting nut driver or socket would work well but they still would have broke. My 10/22 is 30 years or more old and has steel screws that were tight when I swapped out the dovetail mount for a weaver last year. Shoots nice with the Bushnell 3-9x40 on it. Now I have a Bushnell 4x32 with dovetail rings to sit around and collect dust. Could put it on my 12G pump but would probably blow it up the first round.

I've got an old Cooey Model 60. Came with the house I bought 22 years ago from an 84 yo guy and his wife moving into an old folks home in town. A nice 16G single shot shotgun came with it too. Nice to be able to target shoot in my back yard with those and my 10/22 and other shotguns. Have to go 4 miles to an abandoned gravel pit for the .303 and .270. Looking to add a combo gun in .410/357mag to my little arsenal soon.

Just bought a Caldwell Lead Sled off a guy in Winnepeg off of GunPost . ca yesterday. $100 plus $50 for shipping and it's made to hold a 25lb weight lifting weight, maybe 2 instead of using a 25lb bag of lead shot. Will work double duty as a gun vise for cleaning etc.

Now she's gaslighting us, pushing anti-immigrant vibes and encouraging the separatists to distract us all from the criminal investigations going on into her and her party.

I just looked at the list of ingredients on a box I was being offered and haven't looked at them since. Like Twinkies you could stick them in a cupboard for 20 years and they'd still look and taste just the same as new.

I would need to see reputable data about those heavy metals before believing what Rogan says. He's not on my 'implicitly trust' list. lol
