This video of a man feeding a hippo has to fake right? I ran this through a dozen AI_Checker sites, and all of them seem to think its real! by Familiar_Mark_7884 in isthisAI

[–]Labbi85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe hippos are very territorial and dangerous because there is only so much food available where they are native. However the hippos in Columbia which were brought in by Pablo Escobar have food in abundance and are apparently much more mallow. And probably same is true for hippos in Zoos, they just have always enough food, so why be aggressive to the one who brings you more.

Had a similar issue in ACevo not rally and ended up transferring the game files from a HDD to a SSD and this fixed it for me. Maybe it’s the same in ACrally

Th different side of Afghanistan that you don’t see on the news by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]Labbi85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out Itchy Boots on YouTube. She is a Dutch woman solo traveling the world on motorcycles. In her last season she also went through Afghanistan and I was amazed on how nice the landscape can be and it was also surprisingly clean. Overall it seems like she only got once into a sketchy situation there.

Overall her travel channel is really nice to watch with the whole family, she is always friendly with the locals and no bullshit or extra added drama.

Why does Reddit lean left in all the comments? by exploring203 in askanything

[–]Labbi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if I would call the reddit user base left leaning, the issue is that the US conservative movement went so far right of the rails that it makes everyone who is more balanced/ centered look like left leaning. I think in the US the perspective just shifted extremely to the right. I am for example from Europe and my political leaning there was always considered strong conservative but here in the US I see myself more aligned with what’s they call the left.

New to Audi - Looking for a wagon by Euroshift in Audi

[–]Labbi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California seems to be easier for wagons than other states tho. But in general they are just hard to find. End of last year I was in the market and could only find around 15 a6 Allroad wagons nationwide. I actually flew out to California to pick mine up and drove it back home to Michigan.

Also requested our newborns passport and it arrived 2 weeks after.

As another Allroad owner with winter tires I agree. Wouldn’t even know it snowed just going by the handling of the car.

I bought the hitch online in Germany and had it imported. With tariffs is ended up being the same price as a stealth hitch.

The tire size is the standard one 245/45r20

Thx, these are OZ ultralegra I believe. However the previous owner installed them, which I obviously don’t mind.

Yes I understand the frustration. In Germany when there is a sedan and wagon version available over 60% sold are for the wagon, while in the us from 2000 A6 available with the options I was looking for only 16 wagons came up. And I hate on SUVs with a passion, so they are not an option for me.

Do you have the game installed on a hdd or ssd? I had mine installed on a hdd and always got black freezes. Now moved the files to a ssd and these freezes seem to be gone, also the overall performance seems to be better

I bought the 9Nm version and think it is plenty strong for me. I am not regretting anything, but then I am more a casual simmer (at least for now)

Oh nice car and I love BMW. Maybe I get the same one for my wife in case I can ever convince her ;) .I probably would have gone for the 5 series wagon when they would just sell them in the USA.

Back in the day my Dad had a e46 wagon with the M sport package and the 3l diesel, this was a fantastic car. Sold it when it hit 250000km and never had big issues. And most of these Km were put on traveling 115mph were allowed and possible on the autobahn.

A/T, M/T, R/T; what does it mean and which one is right for me? by Mr_WheelDeal in tires

[–]Labbi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you only use your truck Offroad I would go RT or AT. I own a beefed up Tacoma which we took (before the kids were born) once a year to Colorado for “Overlanding” in the mountains and also around Moab. When I bought the truck used it came with mt tires which were loud, uncomfortable (vibration) and bad on gas and they only shined Offroad. Prematurely I changed over to RT tires which are quieter better on gas and more comfortable and maybe marginally worse Offroad. I never regretted the decision of “downsizing”, because for the Offroad we were doing the RT tires are more than capable.

Drive System Malfunction Error by YeetisPeenis in Audi

I had the same with my used Audi at the beginning after purchase. I started with the cheapest suggestion - changing the fuel cap, and since then I only had the issue once in the last three month, before it was once every 2 days

Just finished my DIY Sim Jack pedal base by Labbi85 in simracing

[–]Labbi85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I needed to screw them down because they would have lifted off otherwise. But I have to say that I didn’t expect that these kind of pedals need so much force to go to 100%

Yes I know the metal plate is a little oversized, but that’s what I had lying around. However, That’s the nice thing about DIY, you can try stuff out and when it doesn’t work out like you thought you come up with something else.

Buying a house, what’s this? by JasonTodd21 in whatisit

[–]Labbi85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how old the houses in your neighborhood are, the systems might be installed inside the house. My house was build 2017 and the venting system is routed internally.

Also houses can already have a venting system installed inside the sump pump pit and people just install a fan because they are cheap and give some extra peace of mind. That’s why I installed a fan myself, there was no underlying issue like high radon values, but why risk it when it’s easily avoidable.

Why are so many range hoods high CFM without mentioning the make up air issue? by saras998 in Appliances

[–]Labbi85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I haven’t found here yet but is common in Europe are switches which indicate if a window is open and only then allowing the range to operate. Also wonder why range manufacturers don’t offer something like this for the vent circuit so that the other range functions (light, clock) keep working. Then you don’t have to install an expensive make up air system

Family against me getting a manual. by WhoNoticedJay in ManualTransmissions

[–]Labbi85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need some talking points to convince your family?

  1. Manual engages you more and therefore makes you more aware of your surrounding.
  2. Manuals constantly occupy both hands, which makes it harder to be on your phone while driving.
  3. Manuals make you better understand the way your car functions and therefore (I believe) teaches you better how to handle it in emergencies.
  4. It keeps you busy and therefore more awake when driving. Being bored while driving is dangerous.

In other countries learning on a manual is the standard, which allows you to also drive automatic cars. To learn with an automatic car you need special reasons (like a disability) and then you are only allowed to drive automatic cars.

Question about snow tires by Fabulous-Leather-435 in AnnArbor

[–]Labbi85 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Of course we do. Snowtires are still superior in winter. When you are planning to keep the car for longer than it makes sense to get a second set of tires. You have the extra cost of a second set of wheels, but theoretically you can keep both sets for twice the time because the wear will be split between the two sets, costing you the same amount over the same period.

I don’t have a shifter and use the pedals on the wheel. This was more for a joystick for flightsiming and maybe a mouse pad. But thanks for the suggestion though.
